We Are Reggae celebrates its first anniversary by presenting Capleton and Rising Star winner Shuga formerly known as Brown Shuga on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Beach Bar, Doctors Cave Beach in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Apostles of Production’s partners, promoters and conceptualizers of the We Are Reggae unplugged concert series, Peter Lloyd, Patrick Casserly and Orlando Maxwell invite their loyal patrons affectionately known as “The We Are Reggae Airforce” to join them in celebration.
The astounding success of the We Are Reggae series has helped to reinvigorate the live music scene islandwide and has seen some of the genres best live performances within the last twelve months. The stage has been blessed with brilliant performances by Freddie McGregor, Wayne Wonder, Sizzla Kalonji, Agent Sasco, Etana, Romain Virgo, Baby Cham, Richie Spice, Busy Signal, Peter Lloyd, Ken Boothe, Ghost and Frisco Kid.
The legendary and controversial superstar Capleton aka King Shango is a great headliner for the We Are Reggae brand’s first anniversary show. With literally countless hits, Capleton has never been seen in this unplugged format. His countless fans worldwide would love the opportunity to enjoy this great artiste in an up-close and personal experience. Clifton George Bailey lll born 1967 in Islington, St Mary is one of reggae/dancehall’s most prolific singer-songwriter; In Her Heart, Jah Jah City, Tour, Slew Dem, Wings of the Morning are only a few of a seemingly unending sea of massive hits. Capleton redefined the genre by living the Rastafarian experience, not only in his music, but his lifestyle.
We Are Reggae unplugged is happy to host Misty Campbell also known as Shuga on its first anniversary night. The 2008 winner of Rising Stars who hails from Bogue in Montego Bay will be gracing the We Are Reggae unplugged stage for the first time. The past student of Herbert Morrison high school holds a special place in the hearts of Jamaicans, Montegonians in particular. Her latest hit Ebony is blazing across radio land. This coupled with her other recent hits are highly anticipated at We Are Reggae’s first anniversary show.
