We stop for sundowners at a scenic location in Selenkay, taking in the views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain. About Selenkay Conservancy & Amboseli National Park

Selenkay Conservancy is a remote wildlife concession located to the north of Amboseli National Park. This beautiful natural area was turned into a conservancy when the Maasai elders of the area decided to lease their lands to Porini for this purpose. Wildlife numbers have grown steadily and animals have returned, including elephants which had been absent for two decades.

The exclusive Selenkay Conservancy encompasses woodlands, riverine bush and open plains that form part of the Amboseli ecosystem. The Selenkay Conservancy offers a more secluded safari experience, away from the main tourist areas. This private wildlife conservancy features only one safari camp - Porini Amboseli Camp, ensuring crowd-free game viewing. The camp offers bush walks with Maasai guides and night drives in Selenkay.

Amboseli is Kenya's second most famous game park, after Masai Mara. The national park is best-known for its large elephant herds, including big elephant bulls, and the scenic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.

About Porini Amboseli Camp

This intimate tented camp offers an exclusive safari experience in the private Selenkay Conservancy within the Amboseli eco-system. Porini Amboseli Camp is a classical African safari camp with the charm of pioneering times. The camp features nine tastefully furnished tents with en-suite bathrooms that have showers, wash basins and flush toilets.

This award-winning safari camp offers a real bush experience in a comfortable setting with friendly staff. The game drives are conducted by expert guides in open-sided 4x4 safari vehicles in Selenkay, where guests can escape the crowds.

About Ol Pejeta Conservancy

The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is one of Africa's rhino strongholds, hosting one of the largest and fastest growing population of rhinos. The wildlife conservancy is home to the Big Five of Africa and a high density of predators, as well as Kenya's only chimpanzee sanctuary.

The largest rhino sanctuary in East Africa, Ol Pejeta covers 90 000 acres (360 km²) of wilderness in the foothills of the Aberdare Mountains and Mount Kenya in north-central Kenya.

About Porini Rhino Camp

The camp only has seven tented rooms placed along a seasonal river inside the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The tents are spacious and comfortable, with tasteful furnishings and ensuite bathrooms, fitted with hot showers and flush toilets.

The camp is set under acacia trees in a quiet valley - the tents positioned to offer the best views of the surrounding bush. Shared game drives are conducted by the expert guides in open-sided 4x4 safari vehicles during the day and at night. Guided bush walks are also offered and visits to the chimpanzee sanctuary.

Porini Rhino Camp is an eco-friendly camp using alternative energy and impermanent structures that have a low impact on the environment. The camp contributes to local community development and hires Kenyan staff, prioritizing responsible tourism, as well as environmental sustainability.
