A visit to the Victoria Falls waterfall is not to be missed! This incredible natural wonder plummets just over 100 metres into the first of the Batoka gorges and spans about 1700 metres in width, making it the biggest waterfall in the world.

Accommodation: Hotel

Day 2 & 3: Chobe River – Botswana

The morning of day two is free for activities (extra cost) at Victoria Falls, which is one of Africa's major adventure hubs. Adrenalin seekers can bungee jump off the Victoria Falls Bridge, go abseiling into the deep gorge or experience the thrill of white water rafting on the Zambezi River. There are also scenic flights over Vic Falls, offering a broader perspective of the waterfall and gorges, from a helicopter, small plane or microlight. Or you can visit the sights and local markets of Victoria Falls town and choose from cultural or wildlife viewing activities.

In the afternoon (on day two) we leave Vic Falls behind, crossing into Botswana. We head to the Chobe River in northeastern Botswana where we camp for two nights.

On day three we enjoy our first game viewing adventures. In the morning you have the option of taking a game drive (extra cost) in Chobe National Park, considered one of Africa's finest wildlife havens. In the late afternoon we embark on a game viewing boat cruise on Chobe River, catching a glorious sunset and spotting a rich variety of animals and birds from the water. Chobe is famous for its high concentration of elephants amongst an abundance of other African animals and birds, so keep your eyes peeled.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 4: Kwando River – Namibia

Today we make our way into the third Southern African country visited on our safari - Namibia. We drive across into the Caprivi Strip region of Namibia, an unusually lush part of this largely arid country.

Along the way to our camp along the Kwando River we pause at traditional villages, where you can buy the famous woven items produced by the locals.

Accommodation: Serviced Camping

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5 & 6: Okavango Delta – Botswana

Day five sees us travelling south back into Botswana, driving to the fringes of the world-renowned Okavango Delta. Reaching the water's edge we switch to a motorboat for the two-to-three hour trip to Pepere Island, only accessible by boat.

The whole of day six is spent exploring the pristine Okavango Delta, by mokoro and motorboat, as well as on foot. Our nature walks take us into the untamed bush on Pepere and the remote surrounding islands. Walking is ideal for inspecting the details of the bush, experiencing the sights, smells and sounds of the delta up close.

The Okavango Delta is synonymous with mekoros - the traditional dug-out canoes used to navigate the winding channels of this massive wetland system. Local guides stand in the mekoros, poling you through the waters at a leisurely pace, enabling you to admire the wild habitat and its fascinating inhabitants.

Accommodation: Permanent (fixed) Tents

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 7: Kavango River – Namibia

We take a boat ride back to the outer edges of the delta, where we transfer to our safari vehicle and travel north into Namibia, again. Back in the Caprivi we proceed west to the town of Rundu, setting up camp beside the lush Kavango River tonight.

Accommodation: Serviced Camping

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 8 & 9: Etosha National Park – Namibia

Next, we head to the game viewing highlight of Namibia - Etosha National Park. We stay at restcamps inside Etosha for the next two nights, camping at Okakeujo and Namutoni. Both camps feature floodlit waterholes allowing the game viewing adventures to continue into the night.

Day eight and nine are set aside for exploring Etosha Park on early morning and late afternoon game drives. This is one of Southern Africa's best game reserves, known for its abundant wildlife and rugged landscapes. Sightings include large predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas, as well as elephants, giraffes, zebras and an array of antelope species including the striking oryx and springbok.

Accommodation: Serviced Camping

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 10: Spitzkoppe – Namibia

Leaving the game-rich wilderness of Etosha Park, we set off into the remote Damaraland area of the sparsely populated Kunene Region.

Crossing the open plains of this semi-desert region we pass arid valleys, shrub lands and vegetated riverbeds en route to Spitzkoppe. This is the most recognisable mountain in Namibia - a cluster of exposed rock peaks rising up from the gravel plains. In the afternoon you have time to walk around the Spitzkoppe Massif area, absorbing the strange scenery with its warm palette of colours.

Tonight we camp between the granite boulders in a secluded setting.

Accommodation: Serviced Camping

Day 11: Swakopmund – Namibia

This morning, after breakfast, we drive down to the Atlantic Ocean coastline and our next stop - Swakopmund.

The afternoon is open for sightseeing and activities of your choice - ranging from visiting the museums, galleries and aquarium, to going skydiving, sand boarding or quad biking. Scenic flights are an excellent way to view the town, sandwiched between icy Atlantic and the dry Namib Desert.

This evening you can have dinner and drinks out in Swakopmund, a charming town with a blend of African and German cultural, historical and culinary influences.

Accommodation: Guesthouse

Meals included: Breakfast

Day 12 & 13: Namib Desert (Sossusvlei & Sesriem) – Namibia

On day 12 we exchange the ocean breeze of Swakopmund for the shifting sands of the Namib Desert. One of the oldest and largest deserts on earth - the Namib is the source of Namibia's most iconic and striking imagery.

We camp on the outskirts of the vast desert, surrounded by wide-open landscapes steeped in silence and stillness. Arriving at camp we venture into the arid area on foot, catching what promises to be a spectacular sunset.

Early the next morning we drive further into the Namib Desert, heading for the famous Sossusvlei Dunes area. Driving through the desert as day breaks we get to see the shifting shadows and changing colours of the sand dunes. We cover the last 5km's to the renowned salt pans of Sossusvlei and Deadvlei on foot, taking in the stark scenery which includes some of the tallest dunes in the world.

Later on day 13, we embark on a short hike in the nearby Sesriem Canyon, a narrow gorge of sedimentary rock layers, carved over centuries of erosion.
