Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo National Park – Kenya

Jambo Africa!

This Kenya Parks & Masai Mara Fly-in Lodge Safari starts with pick-up from the international airport (Jomo Kenyatta) in Nairobi.

Leaving the hustle and bustle of Nairobi we travel south to Tsavo National Park, a drive that takes about three and a half hours.

After lunch at the lodge we embark on our first 4x4 game drive in Kenya. Driving through Tsavo National Park we experience the vast arid plains, fringed with the Sagala Mountains. This is one of the biggest wildlife areas in the world with Tsavo East and West together measuring 13747km².

We stay at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge, located inside Tsavo West National Park, near Chyulu Hills and Mount Kilimanjaro. In the evening we have dinner at this classical lodge overlooking a watering hole frequented by large mammals, including elephants and buffalos.

Day 2: Tsavo National Park – Kenya

We spend the whole of day two game viewing in Tsavo, one of Kenya's first national parks. Our game drives are conducted in the 4x4 safari vehicle, after breakfast and again after lunch at the lodge. On our game drives we may be lucky enough to spot the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo), all of which are found in Tsavo. The park is best known for the notorious lions of Tsavo, but also hosts a diversity of other wildlife, including cheetahs, giraffes, hippos, hyenas and antelope species, such as kudus.

There are also some optional activities available at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge if you would like to do something different, from bush walks to dance performances.

Day 3: Tsavo National Park to Amboseli National Park – Kenya

Wake up and look out over the wild grasslands and maybe spot some animals at the waterhole. After breakfast we make our way towards Amboseli National Park about an hour and a half to the west.

Reaching Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge, our next overnight stop, we eat lunch and relax under the trees. Cool down with a swim or simply enjoy the panoramic views of distant Kilimanjaro and the savanna surrounds.

Then we head out into scenic Amboseli Park on an afternoon game drive, in search of natural predators and their prey. We may come across jackals, cheetahs, leopards, lions and hyenas, to name some of the predators. When it comes to herbivores there is an array of life to be seen here, from buffalos to giraffes and wildebeest.

Day 4: Amboseli National Park – Kenya

Day four is all about exploring Amboseli, which is famous for its close sightings of wild elephant herds. We do a morning game drive, return to the lodge for lunch, and go out on an afternoon drive. Driving through the bush in our 4x4 safari vehicle we go in search of the wild animals and rich array of birds (over 420 species) found in the lush swamps and arid grasslands of this beautiful wilderness area. A photographers haven, you can get fantastic wildlife photos with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background.

Returning to the lodge, located in the heart of Amboseli, we have dinner and enjoy the peaceful setting.

Day 5: Amboseli to Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve – Kenya

On day five we return to Nairobi after breakfast, arriving by midday.

Get dropped off at the Wilson Airport for your hour-long domestic flight to Masai Mara,

Touching down, you will be collected at the airstrip and taken to the lodge of your choice, from the selected options. You will have arrived at the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, one of the best game parks in the world. Masai Mara is the game-rich wildlife landscape seen in movies and featured in books about untamed Africa.

Day 6: Masai Mara National Game Reserve

Day six is dedicated to world-class game viewing in Masai Mara National Reserve. Homeland of the fierce Maasai warriors, who can be seen tending their cattle in the area, Masai Mara is also a culturally rich part of Kenya.

Spending the day out on the undulating plains dotted with acacias you can expect to see impressive numbers of wildlife, especially large mammals. Masai Mara is known for its healthy big cat populations and the annual Great Migration, one of the most unforgettable natural phenomena on earth. Once a year millions of hoofed creatures and attendant predators can be seen moving along the ancient migratory route between Mara and Serengeti.

Day 7: Masai Mara National Game Reserve to Nairobi – Kenya

Today we leave the magical Masai Mara, having experienced the wildlife adventure of a lifetime. Returning to the airstrip after breakfast at your selected lodge or safari camp it is time to catch a flight back to the city.

We drop you off at either the international airport, or the post-tour hotel of your choice, in Nairobi.
