Newly re-elected Zambian President Edgar Lungu has pledged to control his government’s expenditure and take more decisive actions to boost economic growth in the southern African country.
Lungu was declared wined of last week’s poll ahead of his greatest challenger Hakainde Hichilema.
The 59-year-old said that his new five-year mandate is sufficient for him to take more decisive actions to improve Zambia’s economy.
“I have five years now which is sufficient time to take more decisive action. I will take measures to grow the economy and control expenditure,” Lungu said in a statement after a meeting with business leaders.
