VWA AFL Victoria Country is pleased to release the fixture for the 2015 VWA Country Championships.
The Championships have become a highlight on the country football calendar and an opportunity for leagues across the state to increase the standing of their respective competition.
In 2015, 34 leagues will compete to climb the rankings, with a further six leagues in northern Victoria and southern NSW putting their reputations on the line across the May 23/24 weekend.
The Geelong FL will be out to retain the state’s No.1 title in enemy territory when they take on the Goulburn Valley FL, while the 3v4 battle will also be played in the state’s north between the Peninsula FL and the Ovens and Murray FL.
The nature of the fixture means that leagues are not guaranteed to be playing on a home and away basis each year.
The promotion and relegation structure of the ranking system does not allow this to occur.
All efforts have been made to ensure the fixture is as fair and equitable as possible, with travel commitments in previous years taken into account.
