Role Summary/Purpose:

This role has overall financial responsibility to measure and manage financial activities optimize costs and identify and mitigate key financial and controllership risks related to this project and others of a similar nature that may develop across the LCT In due course. He/she is to develop operational processes and rigor to provide right level of visibility about the project performance and provide strong leadership support to the commercial and operating teams as a key member of the Project.

Essential Responsibilities:

GE Healthcare, through its East Africa Affiliate has entered into a Managed Equipment Supply (MES) Contract with the Government of Kenya for the Supply of Medical Equipment and services over an extended period of time. The essential responsibilities of this role relating to this contract will be the following:

Duties include (but not limited to):

- Transition the Project financial model from the “PPP” team into a “live” operational plan. Enhance and update model to incorporate critical performance indicators over the life of the project

- Interact with Global COE’s and stakeholders to develop key metrics and tools to measure and track project profitability, cash performance, base costs and resource utilization

- Develop standard and adhoc financial reports for consideration of project leadership and external stakeholders to provide right level of visibility and key focus areas

- Own all financial planning cycles for the project provide deep analysis of performance against plans for leadership consideration and action

- Track and manage working capital and funding needs. Engage intercompany, Tax and Treasury teams as needed to ensure efficient funding solutions

- Own relationship with Sales and project Finance and funders to ensure efficient collection of receivables and provide support for dispute resolution

- Engage regional and global controllership COE’s to ensure key policies and SOP’s around revenue recognition, inventory and obsolescence, reserves are adhered to

- Own relationship with Global Operations – Finance (GOF) to ensure adequate Enterprise Standard service delivery, ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions in compliance with Global Accounting Standards, so that the financial statements reflect a true and fair view of the state of affairs and that adequate quality of book-keeping is maintained.

- Align with relevant Enterprise Standard (ES) owners to ensure timely filing all stat/regulatory record related to the project and ensure smooth engagement with external regulators, Tax Authorities, external and internal Auditors (including CAS)

- Champion compliance & risk mitigation and foster strong compliance culture – engage relevant COE’s including, but not limited to Customs & Compliance specialists to ensure prompt identification and mitigation of compliance risks related to project execution

- Provide strong operational support to commercial and OTR teams. Give Financial and leadership support to teams on the ground to help execute in a challenging environment

- Provide leadership and internal and external stakeholder management, including dispute management with suppliers, customers and other third parties involved in the project

- Provide mentorship and leadership to project finance team

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or other business related field, with minimum of 7 years progressive, post-graduation Accounting or Finance experience;

2. Demonstrated proficiency in U.S. GAAP, local GAAP and authoritative accounting literature

3. MBA and/or affiliation to globally recognized professional association in Accounting, Supply Chain Management non-compulsory, but added advantage
