Millennium Falcon Upgrades – HubSpot Updates

Google Calendar – HubSpot CRM Integration

Everyone’s favorite Calendar app, Google calendar, now integrates directly with the HubSpot CRM. Allowing CRM users to create Google Calendar meetings right from the CRM and automatically capturing GCal meetings with contacts in the CRM.

Once the connection is active, all meetings scheduled in Google Calendar with contacts who are also in your CRM, will automatically get logged, with the exception of contacts that have the same email domain as you, like @HubSpot. You can also create meetings directly from the CRM, see the example below.

How to set up:

From your dashboard navigate to the product integrations page. Scroll down to the Google Calendar Integration and click connect.

Live as of: 12/8/15

Support Inbox & Redesigned Help Widget

Support Inbox is an in-app tool that gives HubSpot users a history of their web and callback tickets with the support team.

With Support Inbox, customers will be able to:

Check on the status of their tickets

Search and browse past tickets to see how they got resolved

See a history of past interactions with support rep and continue in progress conversations

Close tickets when they are happy with the answer they have receive

The Help Widget has historically been used to search for Knowledge Base articles and get in touch with support.

With the new redesign comes the ability to:

View full Knowledge Base articles, projects, videos, and training without leaving the screen in HubSpot

Get notified when Support has responded to their question

Check out the updated help article here.

To access Support Inbox, click on the Help widget at the bottom right hand corner of any app within HubSpot.

From there, you can search the entire HubSpot knowledge base, ask for personal help via a web ticket, get a call back from the support team, or jump straight in to see a history of your Support tickets.

If you click on Contact Support, you will have the choice to ask support to call you or email you. For the first time you also have the option to upload any screenshots or attachments with your question. You can also access these options once you are in Support Inbox.

To search the Knowledge Base, enter your query on the initial page and view results without leaving the screen in the product. You can easily expand the Knowledge base article or open it in a new tab.

To view your history of interactions with Support, click on “View your support inbox.” Within Support Inbox you can manage all of your support tickets, check on a ticket’s status, view and reply to answers you have already received on your questions, and close tickets when you are happy with the results. Administrators will have the extra feature of being able to view not only tickets they have submitted to HubSpot support but also any queries that their team may have. And if an old issue reappears, you can just reopen the original ticket with your follow-up questions. When a support rep responds, you will be notified with the answer to your query immediately in-app as well as via email.

Check it out today on any screen in HubSpot or read the help article to find out more!

Stormtrooper Training – HubSpot Tips & Tricks

This week in the spirit of the force, and all that is good, we turn inward to look at ourselves. This week it is all about contacts, young Jedi, and how to understand who is your enemy or friend and where they are compared to your lifeforce.

In other words, Marcus and I do some tutorials on contacts and marketing funnel like:

How do I import contacts into HubSpot?

What is Lifecycle Stage and how can I use them in HubSpot?

What is the difference between a HubSpot smart list and a static list?

Jedi Mind Trick Moment – HubSpot Wish List

Smart content in new editor

In the new content editor there is a limitation on how you can use smart content. If there is, for example, a semi-transparent module overlaying the module you want to be smart you aren’t able to access the smart settings as you aren’t able to hover over the module in question.

This is also the case if you are using an image in a rich text module to set a background image. There are no issues with this in the old content editor as you can access the smart setting in the interface on the left side. So, my “idea” is to have the ability to access the smart settings in the module toolbar as well as by hovering over the module in the preview pane.
