POSITION SUMMARY
The Medical Director (MD) is responsible for providing clinical expertise and business direction in support of medical management programs to promote the delivery of high quality, constituent responsive medical care. The MD is a critical medical and business leader and contact for external providers, plan sponsors, and regulatory agencies and participates in the strategic medical management of local markets.
This is a 50/50 job-sharing opportunity derived from an established non-shared Medical Director position at ActiveHealth Management in Greenwood Village, CO and is available immediately. The position is currently occupied 100% by Dr. Matt Brodie. We are looking for Medical Director who will job share with Dr. Brodie. The two Medical Directors must be able to function as one - covering all responsibilities as described here and as may come up in the future. The position reports directly to the SVP of Clinical Programs. Join a team of committed and talented MD's who are responsible for clinical content and staff support across the entire portfolio of Care Management products and programs, including UM, CM, CareEngine/Care Considerations, DM, Maternity, Compassionate Care, and Lifestyle Coaching. The job roles and responsibilities include UM 50-60%, CM/DM/Maternity/Lifestyle Coaching 20%, QI Activities 10%, and Clinical Projects 10-20% (Note: roles and responsibilities are subject to change as business needs evolve).
The selected candidate must have:
Doctorate in Medicine from an accredited university
Completed Residency Training Program
Board Certification or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Occupational Medicine, or Pediatrics are preferred; will consider qualified applicants from other medical specialties; must sit and pass specialty boards within 2 years of becoming eligible
3-5 years recent clinical experience
Active medical license
Two or more years of experience in Utilization Management (UM), Case Management (CM), and Disease Management (DM)
ABQAURP certification preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Strong organizational skills
Ability to set and achieve goals
Ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently
Strong oral and written skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and adapt to team approach as necessary
Additional training or experience in HIT, HIE, or EHR preferred
EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a MD.
