POSITION SUMMARY
Opportunity to work on Aetna s leading member facing website for healthcare reform projects, and exchanges strategic initiatives.Formulates and defines system scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results. Prepares detailed technical specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those programs. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. Technical Skills- Proficient in Object Oriented Analysis and Design.- 3+ years of hands on Java / J2EE design and development.- Knowledge of Java Servlets, JSP, EJB, JavaScript, JQuery- Experience with Development Frameworks Spring, Hibernate- Firm understanding of XML, XML Schema, XSLT, and Web Services (including WS-Security).- Experience with using DB2 as the backend database for web applications. Experience with access path analysis and performance tuning.- Experience with RAD and Clear Case.- Lead and participate in design, code and test plan reviews- Experience is working through all phases of the SDLC including System maintenance; Experience with Agile methodology a plus- Good knowledge of UML standards is a plus- Familiarity with development methodologies including Agile/SCRUM a plus- Experience with high-volume, consumer facing Web applications a plus- Knowledge of Web front end technologies - CSS, AJAX, is a plus- Experience with MQ and/or JMS is a plusAdditional skills:- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.- Strong verbal and written communication skills.- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.- Ability to work in a diverse work environment, with a diverse team.- Ability to work effectively with team members in remote locations.
EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
