Head, Product Management
Position Summary
Head, Product Management owns the Product Roadmap and supporting Go-To-Market plans to realize Medicity’s Corporate Strategy. Successful candidate will have a proven track record of translating strategy into pragmatic implementation plans.
Ensures business objectives are achieved by leading new/innovative product ideation and/or enhancement of existing assets to support Medicity’s broader mission of becoming the most complete network enabling population health initiatives, globally. This position is own the prioritization of initiatives to support the company’s business strategy and value proposition. Accountable for the development and ongoing management of the entire product portfolio including, but not limited to, concept ideation, business case development, go-to-market plans, thought leadership, strategic partnerships, distribution strategies and profitability analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy
Drives strategic direction and simplification of Medicity’s product portfolio by (but not limited to):
- Structuring the operational budgets to ensure proper development of product portfolio to support the three-year strategy
- Cultivating the product pipeline with pragmatic opportunities based on external market needs, as well as Medicity’s readiness to execute successfully
- Collaborating with Product Marketing to produce actionable market intelligence to improve lead generation campaigns
- Driving alignment between Medicity and broader Healthagen business strategies – i.e., cross sale initiatives, joint development programs, product bundling – ultimately improving distribution of Medicity products
- Serving as a key thought leader on both internal and external product-oriented workgroups securing alignment to Medicity’s Corporate strategy
Product Management
- Cultural champion for solving the traditionally complex problems in healthcare by cultivating skills within the department to promote intellectual curiosity, data-driven innovation, and world-class teamwork.
- Accountable for the ongoing refinement of the Product Management discipline, including proper adaptation to Medicity frameworks – i.e., Agile Scrum and Pragmatic Marketing.
- Leads product ideation efforts by partnering closely with clients, and other business areas; Evangelizes a data-driven approach to validating concepts before formally accepting them into the product pipeline.
- Oversees business case development working closely with Product Marketing and Engineering to pressure test cost and benefits assumptions, while co-developing pricing and placement strategies with Sales.
- Responsible for active management of all product-line Profit & Loss statements against forecasted plan.
- Monitors product performance through quantitative measures such as periodic client satisfaction surveys, usability studies, and industry analyst reviews.
- Actively participates in the ongoing processes to identify synergies and opportunities across projects to leverage resources and maximize outcomes.
- Collaborates with Product Marketing and Sales to produce effective sales promotion and launch activities (internally and externally).
- Participates in Corporate Development activities (M&A, partnerships, etc.)
Background/Experience Desired
• 10+ years’ experience in Healthcare Information Technology/Commercial Software.
• Demonstrated understanding of contemporary technologies and their applicability to solve healthcare business problems.
• Ability to stay informed of, and apply, the most disruptive technologies to lower total cost of ownership and increase speed to market.
• Outstanding communication/influencing skills applied to broad internal/external audience.
• Demonstrated success partnering with large client base to optimize product roadmap deliverables
• Proven track record of developing and implementing a successful multi-year product roadmap that spans a portfolio of products
• Knowledgeable/active membership in relevant healthcare standards bodies is desirable.
• Experience managing User Experience (UX) professionals to deliver the most satisfying client experiences
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Masters in Business Administration is preferred.
