Our product is aimed squarely at revolutionizing the $700 billion market for health and wellness. Our web and mobile applications will provide consumers with a smarter, personalized, and actionable solution to find their personal path to better health and will provide businesses a platform to drive increased participation and engagement in their wellness programs.
The Director of Marketplace Development and Commercialization will play a crucial role in bringing the vision to life. We are looking for a proven leader who is interested in the speed and creativity of entrepreneurial environments, and the satisfaction of meaningful work. The right candidate will be able to look at the health and wellness market through a unique lens to identify the best possible paths to commercialization and revenue growth. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a strategic roadmap that identifies and prioritizes the best partners and vendors for the Wellness 2.0 marketplace based on customer appeal, operational feasibility, and relationship economics.
- Develop creative revenue models and commercialization options.
- Negotiate agreements and ensure timely execution.
- Manage the vendor/ partner life cycle – from deal initiation through implementation to ongoing relationship management.
- Continuously assess the marketplace to ensure optimal breadth, depth, and quality of offerings while maximizing revenue and profitability.
- Work with account teams to develop key promotional/ sales plans with strategic partners that create and drive revenue, traffic and growth
- Identify, establish, and maintain positive relationships with customers, consultants and other external constituents.
- Participate in conferences, trade shows, and other key forums, as necessary.
- Collaborate with retail partners and account management teams to achieve mutual growth objectives
- Drive preparation and delivery of materials for vendor/ partner visits.
- Develop presentations/ demos/ training collateral for all internal and external business development and sales personnel.
- Achieve cross sell, growth/ retention and profitability targets, and customer satisfaction levels.
- Deliver on all customer promises.
- Build team to support marketplace development and ongoing account management as needed.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 7+ years of business development and/or marketplace development experience with a proven track record of executing strategic partnerships that involve revenue generation and product integration.
- Deep domain expertise in a Direct-to-Consumer industry required.
- Healthcare experience and/ or knowledge of the wellness space preferred.
- Consultative sales and account management experience with external customers.
- Ability to identify new consumer needs and translate them into effective marketplace offerings.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including writing, speaking, product demos, presentations, booths, campaigns, and displays.
- Outstanding customer service attitude, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to participate effectively and build consensus on a cross-functional team.
- Ability to perform cost/benefit financial analysis on new sales/business opportunities.
- Experience in managing multiple projects during the same time period effectively and make timely and sound decisions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Ability to travel 50-75% of the time.
