Our Aetna Data Science organization is currently seeking a Sr. Project Manager – Data Science in either our Blue Bell, PA or Hartford, CT location preferably; consideration will also be given for telework outside preferred area for the right candidate. Position Summary: Aetna's Data Science organization is growing! Aetna is building capabilities to drive our business transformation in this exciting period in the health care industry. The successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise to projects impacting a variety of different types of data in the data warehouse. The data includes multiple domains including medical claim, pharmacy claims, membership, and medical management, which supports HMO, traditional, Coventry, and consumer platforms. Provides awareness to project teams of potential impacts to current data, processes or consumers of the data. Create user acceptance test scripts, as well as perform user acceptance testing. Fundamental Components: · Develops and implements strategic project plan to achieve business goals. · Proactively leads project and/or business by setting direction of project, creating project plan, timeline identifying key milestones and additional resources needed on selected project(s). · Identifies gaps and recommends enhancements related to new and/or existing products, services and workflows based on broad view of the organization. · Solicits and evaluates internal and external customer feedback to enhance continuous quality improvement.· Group facilitation/presentation influencing various internal (these may be cross-functional/segment) and external parties (e.g., vendor management. · Identifies issues that may stall project and addresses them by either resolving the issue or creating an alternative solution.· Tracks progress and communicates project(s) status on a regular basis to all impacted parties. · Builds communication plans for implementation to ensure all impacted parties (upstream/downstream) are informed of next steps for completion.· May mentor and/or manage others. · Acts as an advocate for change may require influencing others to see the value in project, including managing interpersonal sensitivities and articulating the strategic view to ensure project alignment. Background/Experience: · 7 - 10 years of relevant experience.· Proven track record in meeting project milestones and negotiating for resources. · Must understand concepts of data warehousing, software development, project management and data stewardship. · Solid Project Management and supervisory skills. · Past positions required acting as a project lead and directing a team. · Knowledge and experience with programming languages such as SQL, SAS. · Agile project experience highly desired. · Knowledge in Hadoop and its eco system tools like Hive, Hue and HDFS commands preferred.· Ability to work collaboratively within work teams.· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Strong business acumen and presentation skills. Education:· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Telework Specifications:Partial Office-based/telework schedule will be considered preferably within Blue Bell, PA or Hartford, CT area; will also consider FT telework outside preferred area for the right candidate. Additional Job Information:This person will have a broad knowledge and understanding of healthcare data, Aetna’s products and services, and the importance of high quality data and information. An understanding of Data Warehouse environments, including data marts and business intelligence tools and their usage is highly desired. This is a matrix environment, facilitating meetings, and must have knowledge of system development lifecycles.
