The Opportunity
Reporting Relationship:
This role reports to the Head of Executive Recruiting within the Talent Acquisition function in Human Resources. The Executive Recruiting function is a 10 person team.

Summary:

Over the past 12 months, Aetna has been building out its internal Executive Recruitment function. With the advent of the Affordable Care Act, the way Aetna delivers its products and services is dynamically changing and so too is our organization. With many new business lines being developed, Aetna is committed to growing our internal talent acquisition capability to be able to go out and attract top talent who can meet the demands of our evolving workplace.
We are looking for team members within Executive Recruiting who are able to work directly with our Executive C-Suite leaders and provide strategic, consultative recruitment support. As our leadership plans their organizational design, we need individuals who can help our leaders understand the talent market in that respective area and advise, design and executive innovative sourcing strategies to attract top talent. This individual will build opportunistic candidate pipelines for current and future openings. They will be accountable for leading senior executives through the end to end selection process and will influence and negotiate and extend offers. When appropriate, this individual will manage the selection of executive recruiting firms and manage the search assignments.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and adapt executive recruiting strategy to meet business needs.
• Consult with senior management and HRBPs on executive-level openings to identify job specifications, candidate criteria and develop a sourcing strategy.
• Provide ongoing consulting to stakeholders throughout the hiring process. Give guidance on the interview, selection process and all aspects of the offer package.
• Search for qualified candidates through multiple and diverse sources and vehicles.
• Assess qualifications of candidates and conduct pre-screen interviews. Refer qualified candidates to hiring manager.
• Partner with HRBP to develop the assimilation plan.
• Partner with executive compensation and legal to develop and receive approvals on offer package.
• Extend and negotiate the offer with the candidate.
• Ensure that non-selected candidates receive appropriate communication.
• Collaborate with senior management and Human Resources Business Partners on human capital plans to develop pipelines of candidates for future openings.
• Select executive recruiting firms, negotiate contracts, and maintain ongoing relationships when necessary and advise the business on which firms to use based upon the respective business area and functional expertise.
• Manage all phases of search assignments with executive recruiting firms including interviewing and assessing all presented candidates.
• Build and maintain an external pipeline of diverse, qualified candidates and well as those who are veterans.
• Utilize feedback and data to provide best-in-class recommendations to clients related to sourcing and strategy.
• Handle additional responsibilities as requested by management.

Background/Experience Desired:
• 10+ years of experience in Executive Sourcing/Talent Acquisition or demonstrated equivalent experience level, including: a) Min. 7 yrs. conducting full cycle recruiting, including sourcing senior level candidates, candidate assessment and consulting with stakeholders, in a high touch, matrixed corporate environment, and b) Min. 5 yrs. experience researching and sourcing, including the use of diverse strategies, technologies and tools.
• Demonstrated broad knowledge and successful use of compensation and benefits programs as they relate to executive recruiting.
• Demonstrated consulting skills working with senior level management.
• Demonstrated negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the healthcare industry preferred.
• Demonstrated established network of executive recruiting resources preferred.
Education and Certification Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
