POSITION SUMMARY
**Exciting opportunity to be part of Aetna's team of Application Developers and help drive and shape policies***
The Senior Software Developers role is to analyze, design, develop and test software applications, primarily using the Microsoft development platform. This includes researching, designing, documenting and modifying software throughout the development life cycle. The role will focus on technically innovative and architecturally advanced solutions.
Fundamental Components:
The Senior Software Developer will troubleshoot complex production incidents and software errors, evaluates business needs, mentor fellow developers, and collaborate with application designers. This role will also create development and design documents, build and operate unit testing, and participate with deployment and implementation activities. Senior Developers are expected to participate in both complex, technically challenging projects, as well as production analysis for break fixes and other production support activities. Developers will work on multiple project rotations with numerous opportunities to work with the latest technologies.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:
Expected 7+ years experience within each category
Programming Languages: SQL | VB.NET | C#.NET | ASP.NET | XML | AJAX | JQuery
Frameworks: .Net Framework through 4.5
Software Tools: Visual Studio 2010-2013, SSIS, IIS Client, Rational ClearCase or TFS
Databases: Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2-2013
Operating Systems: Windows Server 2008-2012
EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Information Technology/Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) for Microsoft .NET is desired
