Bozeman, MT – Women with an adventurous spirit looking to get away on their own may find themselves floating on the Dead Sea, on a luxury riverboat in India or learning the native dance of the Embera tribe in Panama with AdventureWomen as part of their new tour line-up for 2014. A 32-year-old company that specializes in group adventure trips for women traveling solo, AdventureWomen will offer four new tours for 2014 along with 12 returning tours that have proven traveler favorites.
New tours for 2014 include:
India’s Holy Ganges
January 28-February 14, 2014
Starts at $8995/person/double occupancy
Explore the hustle and bustle of India by day but return to a peaceful sanctuary on a private 28-cabin luxurious riverboat by night. During one of the only times of the year it’s possible to sail down the Ganges by boat, AdventureWomen will take travelers through Mother Teresa’s Calcutta, Varanasi (India’s holiest city), Bodh Gaya (the most important Buddhist pilgrimage site in the world where in 500 BC Prince Siddhartha achieved enlightenment to become Buddha), and to a river sanctuary for dolphin. “It’s a really wonderful way to see India,” says Susan L. Eckert, founder and owner of AdventureWomen, who notes this is the first cruise offering for the company.
The Best of Chile: Santiago Wine Country, the Atacama Desert and Easter Island
March 27-April 8, 2014
Starts at $5995/per person
On this Chilean adventure, women sip some of Chile’s finest wines while walking the vineyard trails of the Colchagua Valley, an area Wine Enthusiast called “The Next Napa Valley.” Women then fly to the Atacama Desert in Northern Chile, where NASA trained its Lunar Rover, to explore a lunar-type landscape filled with dunes, geysers, hot springs, salt flats and volcanoes. As a last stop, travelers fly to Easter Island to view the mysterious colossal stone statues. Accommodations include three high-end hotels.
Panama Humanitour
June 22-29, 2014
Starts at $4295 and includes local flights within Panama
This adventure tour lets women “give back” as part of their vacation. Travelers are asked to bring items, such as sports equipment for children, for donation to the locals. Additionally, the group will visit two local nonprofits to learn about their activities and choose a way to support one or more of the organizations. Women will also spend a day with the Embera tribe, learning about their culture, trying their native dances and exploring their traditions. Other trip highlights include trekking through the rainforest, hiking the Quetzales Trail in the jungle highlands, whitewater rafting and a visit to the Panama Canal.
The Nature of Israel
September 8-21, 2014
Starts at $5995/per person
This is not your standard Israel tour, says Eckert. While women will hit the highlights of the major historical attractions, the adventure tour will also focus on the lesser known side of Israel: its nature and wildlife. The trip includes visits to Hai Bar Park, known as “Little Switzerland;” the Tel Dan Nature Reserve; Bahai Gardens; a nature trek at Ein Gedi; sailing and birding on the Red Sea and, of course, floating on the Dead Sea. Other stops include Tel Aviv, Old Jaffa and Jerusalem.
AdventureWomen also offers 12 additional tours for 2014, including some popular trips like Trekking Nepal’s Himalayas, Hiking Montana’s Glacier National Park, Alaska Bear Viewing, Walking in Provence, Whale Watchingin Mexico and Skiing in Montana. For a complete list of 2014 tours, visit here.
