Takes this opportunity to briefly in regards to the Postman / Mail Guard Recruitment Examination (PMGRE) 2016-17  for recruitment to the Posts of Post Men & Mail Guards in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States against  196 Vacancies (AP: Post Men & Mail Guards 118 + 03) and (TS: Post Men & Mail Guards 70 + 05) as stated in the subsequent Paragraphs.

The Department of Posts (DoPs), Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Andhra Pradesh / Telangana Postal Circle shall shortly declare the Dates for Postman / Mail Guard Recruitment Aptitude Test (PMGRAT) 2016-17. The Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, India Post may release before September-end 2016 Press Communique in respect of issuance of the e-Admission Certificates / Hall Examination Tickets.

The Department of Posts, India Post (DoPs-IP), the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology (MCIT) would intimate commencement of e-Hall Tickets downloading as well as the Aptitude Test for Postman / Mail Guard Recruitment Test (PMGRT) 2016-17.

In view of the above, we look forward to the Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Andhra Pradesh Postal Circle to organize in October 2016 the Postman / Mail Guard Direct Recruitment Aptitude Test (PMGDRAT) 2016 – 17 for selection to the Posts of Post Men and Mail Guards and First Alerts.

Selection Procedure:

Based on the Marks obtained in the Postman & Mail Guards Aptitude Test (PMGAT), a Merit List of the Qualified Candidates would be prepared in each Postal Division (PD) / Railway Mail Service (RMS) Division separately. As per the availability of the Vacancies as notified above, Selection shall be made in the respective Unit based on the Merit List among the Candidates applied for that particular Division / Unit.

The Department of Posts, Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Andhra Pradesh shall conduct the Postman / Mail Guards Aptitude Test 2016 based on the Test Contents stated in the Tabular Format.

The Department of Posts shall release within 14 Days the Set-wise Optical Mark Recognition Based Test Question Booklet Provisional Answers Key in Set A, Set B, Set C & Set D of the AP & TS Postmen / Mail Guards Aptitude Examination 2016.

The Department of Posts, India Post shall announce the Results of the Written Part of Postmen & Mail Guard Recruitment Test 2016  only after publishing Final Answers Key in Code A, Code B, Code C, Code D of the Optical Mark Recognition Based Aptitude Test 2016.

Selection Criteria:

Final Selection shall be carried out as explained in the following Paragraphs notified by the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Government of India in respect of the Postal Circles in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana States.

The Department of Posts shall prepare Divisional Level Merit based on the Candidates’ respective performance of the Candidates in the OMR Based Recruitment Aptitude Test 2016 from among the candidates having applied and declared as Qualified to the Posts for the Division / Unit Concerned.

The Ministry of Communications & Information Technology (MCIT), Office of the Chief Postmaster General shall prepare A Common Merit List for the respective Postal Divisions / Units in respect of all categories of the Posts put together.

AP / TG Postman – Mail Guard Expected Cut Off 2016

The Marks scored in the Aptitude Test by the Candidates will be considered to draw up Common Merit List for each Recruiting Division and Selection will be purely on merit basis.

Provided that SC, ST, OBC, and PH candidates, who are selected on their respective Merit without Relaxed Standards, along with the candidates belonging to other communities, will not be adjusted against the Reserved Share of the Vacancies.

The Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and Physical Challenged Candidates will be accommodated against the General / Un-Reserved Vacancies as per their individual position in the Merit List. The Reserved vacancies will be filled up separately from amongst the Eligible Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Other Backward Classes, and Physically Handicapped Candidates which shall, thus, comprise the SC, ST, OBC and PH Candidates who are lower in Merit than the last General Candidate on the Merit List of the Un-Reserved Category but otherwise found suitable for appointment even by Relaxed Standard.

Methodology to Resolve the TIE:

if two or more Candidates secure Equal Marks in Aptitude Test and they are standing in the last position in the Merit List, then it is clearly stated that the Candidate senior in Age will be considered for Selection;

if two or more Candidates secure Equal Marks in Aptitude Test and they are standing in the Last Position in the Merit List & their respective ages are also the same, then the candidates who secured Higher Percentage in the Matriculation would be considered for Selection.
