The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) specifies eligibility criteria of SSC CGL examination 2016. As per the eligibility criteria of SSC CGL recruitment procedure, candidates must have a Graduation degree from a recognized University.

They must be a citizen of India and aged according to the age limit mentioned by the Commission. Candidates can check detailed list of SSC CGL 2016 eligibility criteria below on this page.

Under SSC CGL 2016 eligibility criteria, candidates’ Date of Birth must be same as recorded in the Matriculation / Secondary Examination Certificate will be accepted.However, SSC provides permissible relaxation of upper age limit to select category candidates under Government orders.

Age Limit: For post code E age criteria is 18-27 years, and for post code G age criteria is 20-30 years is applicable in SSC CGL 2017, not in SSC CGL 2016, the Commission said In a notification.

Age limit will be reckoned as on January 1, 2016:

20-27 years : 02.01.1989 and not later than 01.08.1996

18-27 years : 02.01.1989 and not later than 01.08.1998

18-25 years : 02.01.1991 and not later than 01.08.1998

21-27 years : 02.01.1989 and not later than 01.08.1995

20-30 years : 02.01.1986 and not later than 01.08.1996

30 years : 02.01.1986 and not later than 01.08.1998

32 years : 02.01.1984 and not later than 01.08.1998

Highlights of SSC CGL 2016 Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications: Required Qualifications under Eligibility Criteria for SSC CGL 2016 as on 01-August-2016.the candidate should have Bachelors Degree from any recognized University or equivalent.

Nationality/Citizenship : A candidate must be either-

a citizen of India, or

a subject of Nepal, or

a subject of Bhutan, or

a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the Ist January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania ( Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar ), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
