The music video for Lady Gaga‘s new single, “Applause,” made its worldwide debut on “Good Morning America” on Monday morning.
The catchy dance tune is given an equally dance-filled retro video, with Gaga, 27, appearing in very little clothing showing off her incredibly toned figure.

The artsy look is also in the cover art for her single.

Though mostly filmed in black and white, the “Applause” video is splashed with color every once in a while as Mama Monster thrashes around sporting her dramatic face paint.

The singer wore a custom designed Mathieu Mirano x Lady Gaga Warped White Paper Jacket, White Paper Panty and Bra, and White Paper Gloves.
Occasionally there’s an inexplicable adornment — like Gaga’s head attached to the body of a swan — but for the most part it’s a straight-forward profile of the artist herself.

‘My kind of music… is the kind that you look at,’ Gaga said, explaining the music video for ‘Applause.’
On “Good Morning America,” Gaga even made a live appearance to introduce the video. The singer wore a tiny white dress, sporting a new haircut and minimal makeup.
“My kind of music that I make is the kind that you look at,” Gaga said, explaining that she wanted to release the video and song on the same day, but due to hackers leaking the song early last weekend her plan was derailed.
