Setting new benchmarks in United Arab Emirates urban development, the establishment of a new city within Dubai has fully revealed as the first district of “Mohammad Bin Rashid City” was inaugurated yesterday.
Mohammed Bin Rashid City — District One will comprises 1,500 villas, leisure and retail attraction points on a prime four million square meters of freehold land is located 60 seconds drive from Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched the website of the Mohammed Bin Rashid City project at Meydan Hotel in Nad Al Sheba.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, and a number of senior officials, heads of government departments in Dubai, and the team supervising the project.
The AED 30 Billion project “Mohammad Bin Rashid City”, will feature world class leisure facilities with an integrated environment for the development of entrepreneurship and innovation.
About 65 per cent of the project’s land area will be made up of parks and waterways and will be surrounded by the largest mall in the world called “Mall of the World”, which will be capable of receiving 80 million visitors a year, and include over 100 hotel facilities to meet the requirement for accommodation.
Located between Emirates Road, Al Khail Road and Shaikh Zayed Road, the new city will be connected to Downtown Dubai and Business Bay through a crossing that will be named the “Cultural Crossing” which will include art galleries and create the largest area for arts in the region. The city will also include Mohammad bin Rashid Gardens Project.
Divided into four (4) components, the first component focal is on family tourism. It has a family park that is capable to accommodate 35 million visitors which will be the largest family center for leisure and entertainment in the Middle East, Africa Indian subcontinent and region. It is a massive park which will be 30 per cent bigger than Hyde Park in London.
Second part will highlight the retail industry featuring the largest shopping mall in the world. The third component will include the largest area for arts galleries in MENA.
The fourth component will see the development of a unique area that will provide an integrated environment for entrepreneurship and innovation in the region.
