The publishers of Asian Trucker created a whole new genre of magazines in Asia when they launched Asian Trucker in 2009. In the USA, trucks, the men who drive the big rigs and even the restaurants that service them are part of a legend. There’s even a TV programme called ‘Trick My Truck’ currently shown on StarHub cable channel in Singapore, dedicated to embellishing these road monsters. Of course, in Asia one can also see on the road trucks that have been personalised with extra chrome or lights.
But trucks are also a large and important investment for haulage companies. Vehicle manufacturers, oil producers and tyre companies need to reach this market so one can assume Asian Trucker gave these advertisers a much needed platform. Asian Trucker is celebrating its success with its fourth country edition launching in Thailand. This nation is one of Southeast Asia’s largest automotive manufacturing locations and Asian Trucker Media says the market is reacting favourable to the launch. Wisely, the publisher is printing the edition in the Thai language to ensure a broader audience. In Hong Kong, Asian Trucker is printed in traditional Chinese. The other two markets in Malaysia and Singapore are printed in the English language.
