Adam Lambert tops chart and makes history in the USA with 'Trespassing'

Vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert has shot to the

top of the U.S. albums chart with his second

album 'Trespassing' and has made history in the

process.

The dreaded sophomore slump is something

Lambert won't have to contend with as he is is

currently leading the chart with his new record,

and this impressive feat has made him the first

openly gay recording artist to achieve a No.1

album in America.

This is what so many of us have dreamed of since first hearing/sensing the incredible talent of Adam over 3 years and five months ago when he first appeared on that show!

Here are some of Adam's thoughts on Fame and the future:

(after Idol and the Idol tour)

“It’s the whole “Slumdog Millionaire” thing, where it’s like his whole life like leads up to that moment and the only way he gets through that moment is because of all of his experiences. I went to see “Slumdog” as this was all happening and I was just in tears because I was so touched by the concept of that movie. And I wouldn’t have done what I did on the show had it not been for what I’ve gone through and my experiences in my life and what age I’m at. I wouldn’t have been that confident. I would have been second guessing myself. I would have been really busy people-pleasing as opposed to just doing what I do. It was meant to be now.”

“I just want to make cool music and wear cool clothes. It is not much deeper than that. I want to entertain people and figure out new ways to get people’s attention, keep them dancing and maybe cross over to other forms of media — maybe TV and film in the future, maybe fashion. We will see what the future holds.”

“There’s no way to ever really prepare for it. Fame is a reflection of what I’ve done. Notoriety is proof of a job well done.”

“I’ve met a lot of people that I look up to, artists that I respect. That’s been crazy. Just last night I met Usher, Enrique Iglesias and My Chemical Romance at the studio. I’ve just been meeting these artists and they know who I am now because of the show and Rolling Stone and all that, so it’s weird that they’re like ‘Hey, Adam!’ and I’m like ‘What?!’ It’s just weird to be on the same page as them, so to speak.”

“This whole experience is liberating and validating at the same time. It’s really allowing me to be the artist I’ve always wanted to be. This experience has opened up so many doors and connected me with so many amazing, talented, reputable producers and writers. That’s liberation right there.”

“I have been doing a lot of writing, actually. It’s been really exciting. I think something that people can expect from the album is that, lyrically, everything that I’m singing about is true to my life. That’s important to me, it’s something I can connect to personally. I think this is the album that’s going to be fun and exciting and sexy and also going to have positive hopeful messages.”

“I’m hopeful. I have a great opportunity right now. There are a lot of people who want to work with me that I really respect. And hopefully it works. I’m not c***y because I’ve seen a lot of guys come off this show and bomb, so I recognize that I could crash and burn. But if I play it safe, it’s not going to work, so I might as well go for it with the same intention that I had on the show.”

“Whenever I get overwhelmed or a little bit cranky, I tend to go, ‘You know what? Look how lucky you are. You got what you wanted. This is amazing. I have to remind myself from time to time. And when I do remind myself, I’m thrilled.”

“This whole experience is liberating and validating at the same time. It’s really allowing me to be the artist I’ve always wanted to be. This experience has opened up so many doors and connected me with so many amazing, talented, reputable producers and writers. That’s liberation right there.”

“I get a lot of very excited, physical women, and it’s always really sweet and it means a lot, but sometimes I get a little smothered. But I know the thing is that it’s all from the heart, and I love that. The expression is real and genuine, and that’s what matters.”

“When you are performing and the audience is screaming your name, it totally charges you up,”
“I think it’s a fair trade. It’s worth it, for the opportunities.”

“Honestly, this is what I’ve been working towards since I moved to LA after high school… I feel like I have a shot now at crossing that finish line, hopefully.”

“Nothing can prepare you for this.”

“Oh yah, it comes with the territory, man, I mean everything I’ve ever done in my entire life and I’m 27 years old, is going to get drug out, you know”

“I’ve been a small fish in a big pond for eight years”

“I can’t wait for people to hear what my music really sounds like.”

“I try to give everyone something they want, and also something they didn’t know they wanted”

“It can charge you up and make you feel like a million dollars, and at the same time it can make you feel like you got run over by a train. There is so much energy coming at you all the time. In New York, I wanted to just give everybody as much of me as I could because everyone was so supportive and showing so much love.”

“And the other thing that’s interesting being on Idol, it’s different than a lot of other celebrity situations because people call in and vote. So people are more invested, in a way, because they’re responsible for how you do on the show. So I think there’s also a feeling of gratitude that I want to get across. And then there’s also this partial ownership, this possessiveness that the fans feel toward all of us, and that’s interesting.”

“Thank you to my family and friends who’ve kept me grounded throughout this journey. Thank you to the incredible fans who have shown me so much light and love. It was all of you who made this dream come true. I’m eternally grateful.”

“Thanks first to the Universe for sending this opportunity my way and for making sure all was in alignment.”

And no matter what happens, this quote is one we can all relate to!

After Idol, an interviewer said to Adam's Dad:

“It must be good to be Adam’s father right now, huh?”

Eber answered with “It’s always good to be his father.”

And I say: ( Even if no one else understands ever)

It's always good to be a Glambert!

Today Adam Lambert popped by the office for a luncheon. I was impressed by how candid and funny he was — it’s rare to meet a celebrity who chooses to have their guard down. I think that’s what I like most about him: he wasn’t trying to make us like him, which of course, made him even more likeable.

http://zachjohnson.tumblr.com/post/23491247920/today-adam-lambert-popped-by-the-office-for-a

But nobody in the history of the show has worked us into a frenzy the way Adam Lambert does. Perhaps it’s his near-albino-gingerness-turned-badass-rocker that won us over. Or maybe just how he hits high notes like few other men in the history of recorded music.

Lambert’s newest album, Trespassing, is deeply personal and highly motivational with one power anthem after another.
