Time again for my favourite happy post of the month! Every month I write my list of things I have liked and loved over the month and I find it a great way to give myself a boost.
Even if I have felt like I’ve had a bad month and been pretty stressed out, writing this list makes me realise how much I have to be grateful for and that things were actually better than I thought. Then after a brilliant month, this list gives me even more of a happy buzz.
So here it is my things I have liked and loved in January 2016
Perranporth today – The weather has been so wet and miserable lately, that during the brief moments when it’s nice we’ve tried to get outside to get rid of the cabin fever. Today we headed to the opposite coast from our home in St Austell to go to Perranporth, which is a gorgeous place with one of the best beaches in Cornwall in my opinion.
We went for a walk along the beach and up on to the coastal path on the cliffs. Amazingly it was 13 degrees, sunny and too hot to wear coats for most of our time there! It was great to get some exercise and the boys loved having running races with Si once we reached the top.
Being on the radio – I was so nervous I actually felt like I might be sick ha (classy I know), but I was on a local radio station called The Hub (106.1 FM in Cornwall or you can listen online) this week for an hour being interviewed by one of their lovely presenters. It ended up being a lot of fun, and I’m actually a bit proud that I didn’t back out with my nerves.
I spoke to them partly about my blog and blogging in general, but more importantly I spoke about the differences between the different types of Diabetes and I told everyone the signs and symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes.
Breakfast and shopping with a fellow blogger – I met the lovely Hannah from Cupcake Mumma for breakfast this month in Truro and we did a bit of shopping. The breakfast was huge and very yummy, and it was great to catch up with Hannah again.
Losing Weight – Despite the huge breakfast above, I have managed to lose 5 lbs this month and am trying to get my fitness and weight loss/health goals back on track. Slowly but surely I’ll get there.
New Stationery – Sad as it is, I do get a little over excited by new stationery and reviewing some Collins stationery lately was brilliant.
This sign in Mevagissey – This really gave me a giggle when we went to Meva recently.
Running competitions – I used to enter a lot of competitions and got a real buzz when I had an email telling me I’d won something. I have several competitions running on my blog at the moment and I love that I am going to get to send those happy emails off to people. I always love that bit.
My blog birthday – A Cornish Mum is now a year old, and I loved how many people were lovely enough to congratulate me on this and who have also made my 1st year of blogging pretty darn amazing.
This photo – I took this photo today and it is my absolute favourite of all the thousands of photographs that I have taken over the years. It was such a happy moment watching the boys smiling faces as they raced Si and seeing Harley clown around as usual. It was just one of those moments that I am so glad I captured. I can;t help but smile at this photo.
It’s been another brilliant month for me full of lovely things and my favourite people. How has your month been?
