I would like to introduce my self as Snoepie1012, I've been into RsPs for 5-6 years. The last year I've been looking a lot into the higher revision servers like Matrix and I am amazed what it has to offer and how nice Rs must have been before EoC.
I am currently running a PI server which is going great and is online for 8 months, I decided to move that to the background and start working on a new project. I have did some research on forums and toplists and notice that there is a strong rise in 677+ and decided to join this train.
I have been working on this Matrix base which I got a while back for over 2 months now, I already got a neat looking homepage (Edge4PK) and a valid Vbulletin forum with a theme. More site stuff is highscores and a full working on site credit shop system with a login system.
I got a strong 200$ dedicated host running that I am planning to use for this project, it has 500-600 Mbps upload speed, 32Gb ram and a quad core. It also has one of the best firewall I ever saw, in 4 months of renting I had a absolute 100% uptime. We currently use this host to beta test with.
(If you were hoping I would make some sort of advertising about what the server already has then no sorry, simple to much out of my head)
When I started this project I didnt release that this was completely different from any other revision I ever worked with, this was something special. Me and my team just started throwing ideas into a list and it didnt stop till we had to cut it and set a goal before it would take a year to make all the ideas.
We decided its better for us and the community to start sooner with 'less content' and work out from there and expend rapidly with updates every week and a monthly big update. This is what we are trying to reach now and currently working to, but we decided that it cant go trough like this. I am the only developer currently and we decided its better to just lookout for another developer.
However this isnt as easy as it sounds, I got contacted multiple times but most of them just dont have the skill and activity to bring enough help. I am looking for someone who can be activity and knows a decent amount of Java (Prefer worked with Matrix aswell) to join our team. Someone that we can trust, someone that is friendly and mature and someone that can care about something. I am not talking about a week project here, if it is up to us we keep going till the lawyer from Jagex are nocking on my door (a).
The server will be a Pk and PvM server, we support Pk but in the same time we support PvM and skills like summoning/slayer A lot. We arent the kind of server that just gives the player godswords without them working for it. We will have the basic items like sharks, super str pots, rune gear and a d scimy in our spawn tab for the 'Login and Pk' style but our economy will be top notch with a wide array of avaible items.
To keep the economy clean for any dupes we log almost everything, it is stored in a online MySql database and view able for mods.
Our staff will login on a online panel and from there perform actions such as timed bans with a reason so other staff members can review this information if a player ask why he got banned. Also staff can pull certain information from a user his account such as last 3 digit from the player his IP to perform a comparing on other accounts.
We also know a lot about advertising, we have the funds for it and we will spend much on it. We will purchase sponsered spots on sites like Top100, Moparscape and Runelocus.
