The Mercure Singapore Bugis is located in Bugis and Bras Basah, one of Singapore’s most vibrant neighborhoods. Scroll down for some of the important heritage sites within a short walk of the hotel.
The hotel is also a short walk from the Lion City's Central Business District and trendy Orchard Road, home of some of the city's best shopping.

The hotel is a member of the French-based AccorHotels group, which has a growing number of hotels in the city under various brands.
Mercure is a mid-range hotel brand with more than 730 hotels situated in 55 countries around the world.
AccorHotels, meanwhile, has more than 4,000 hotels, resorts, the residences scattered across the globe.
Hotel Guest Feedback
The hotel has been getting rave reviews from guests for its location, wi-fi, and vibe, getting nine out of 10 in all three categories.
The hotel gets eight out of 10 points for its amenities. It also get eight out of 10 points for service. It gets six out of 10 for value.
When it comes to rooms, however, the hotel gets only four points out for 10. As for comfort, the hotel gets only two points out of 10.
Accommodation
The hotel has 395 smartly furnished rooms and suites. Bathrooms have showers but no bathtubs. There are four different room types.
Standard rooms have queen sized beds or twin beds sleeping up to two persons. Sleeping up to two adults, loft rooms have queen sized beds and sofas. Superior rooms have king sized beds. Executive loft rooms have queen sized beds and sofas.
Loft rooms have floor to ceiling windows with a foldable sofa bed on one level. Stairs lead to a bedroom with a queen-sized bed on another level.
Rollaway beds are not allowed in any of the rooms. Baby cots are only allowed in loft rooms and superior rooms.
My room had a zen-like atmosphere, with simple lines, off-white walls, and a colourful red fabric panel over the bed with a bold modernistic work of art in red, black, and white suspended in the middle.
All of the rooms are non-smoking. There are two reduced mobility rooms. One crib is available for familities.
I particularly liked the spacious work station, which allowed me to spread our my resources and reference materials.
There was a bookshelf to the left of the space.
There sink was located in the main room with a spacious counter and a large mirror. Coffee- and tea-making facilities and a mini bars are located under the counter.
Accommodation includes unlimited mobile Internet access and a portable smartphone, with allows free local and international phone calls to 10 global destinations.
Food and Beverage
The hotel has four food and beverage outlets. Song Garden is a Chinese restaurant serving Cantonese cuisine. It is open for lunch and dinner.
Formerly known as Sauces, Royale is an all-day dining restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The restaurant serves lavish international buffet breakfasts from 6 am to 12 noon.
Royale is where I had breakfast during my one-night hosted stay at the hotel. I was impressed by the wide selection of dishes that were served at the buffet stations.
The restaurant serves ala carte international menus at lunch and dinner. It is open until 10.30 pm.
Bartistry@One22 is the hotel’s lobby bar. It serves afternoon tea and evening cocktails. Open from 6 am to 11 pm, it had an unmistakable vibe.
Straits Poolside overlooks the roof-top swimming pool. Serving drinks and light snacks, it is open from 10 am to 11 pm.
Facilities
The hotel has a an outdoor terrace, an infinity swimming pool on the roof, a small glass-enclosed fitness room, and a sky deck. Owing to its rectangular shape, the swimming pool seemed perfect for doing laps.
And that is exactly what I noticed people doing when I inspected the property.
Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to do laps while I was staying at the hotel.
Other facilities include a banquet halls and meeting rooms with an outdoor terrace.
Location, Location, Location
The hotel is located in the heart of Bras Basah Bugis, Singapore’s vibrant arts and cultural district.
There are numerous office buildings, shopping malls, hotels of all grades, and food and beverage outlets in the district.
Historic St. Joesph's Church is located kitty corner from the hotel on Victoria Street. I had an excellent view of the church from my hotel room, as demonstrated by this photo, which was taken from my room.
Colorful Albert Mall on Waterloo Street is right around the corner from the hotel, which can be seen in the upper right hand corner of this photo. The mall is lined some important heritage sites and two colourful temples.
The Sri Krishnan Hindu Temple is clad with amazing statuary. Established in 1870, the temple is the only South Indian Hindu temple in Singapore exclusively dedicated to Sri Krishna and his consort Rukmini.
A few steps down the the mall is the Kwan Im Hood Cho Temple, dedicated to the Chinese Goddess of Mercy. The temple was established in 1884 and was reconstructed at its current location in 1895.
Stalls selling fruit, street eats, cheap clothing, electronics products, souvenirs, and other goods run up and down the pedestrian mall.
