Big changes on the way……….this will likely be the last “Update” post here……details from DN Journal. The weekly post won’t be going away, but the URL will be changing.
Listed below are updates to the top 10 domain sales from a year ago, as ranked by DN Journal.
1. Yinhang.com for $300,000
A Chinese language financial news and information site. The traffic leader for the week, with an Alexa rank near 40,000. Appears to be an upgrade from Bankrate.com.cn.
2. Grydladzieci.pl for $48,870
“Games for children” in Polish……and that’s how this site is developed. Alexa rank near 650,000.
3. KBRA.com for $40,000
A shortener for KrollBondRatings.com, which is where their acquisition is currently redirected. “Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA) was established in 2010 by Jules Kroll to restore trust in credit ratings by creating new standards for assessing risk and by offering accurate, clear and transparent ratings.”
4. Seeq.com for $33,000
A start-up with $8 million in funding, which ” develops software and services that transform industrial process data from sensors and instrument systems into useful information and actionable intelligence”.
5. Binguan.com for $30,000
Parked. I have no idea what “binguan” is, but there appears to be a few people named “Bin Guan”.
5. Dating.co for $30,000
A placeholder, informational site is live and has an Alexa rank near 500,000. The articles in the screenshot below don’t exactly scream ‘credibility’ —- the top three articles discuss seducing women?!?
7. EB5Visa.com for $28,000
You can see the placeholder below. Details on this type of visa are here. Quick version = invest alot of money in a US-based deal, and get a green card. Some colleagues are currently using these visas to raise equity for a big real estate deal in California.
8. Snacker.com for $25,450
“Snacker – Office snacks for entrepreneurs, companies and employees”. Acquired by David Hauser, an entrepreneur that was one of the founders of Grasshopper, and “one of the youngest co-founders to have lead a company to the Inc. 500 list of the fastest growing private companies in U.S.”, per CrunchBase. No traction with this site yet….Alexa rank near 8.6 million.
9. Executor.co.uk for $18,720
A placeholder, brief informational site is live. Alexa rank over 20 million.
10. MMB.com for $18,500
A Chinese-language eCommerce site is live, and appears to have a group-buying twist, per Google Translate. Alexa rank near 2.8 million.
10. SoapOperas.com for $18,500
You can see the placeholder site below….though it doesn’t appear to have anything to do with soap operas. Per Whois, it’s owned by an “FP Group LLC” of Austin, TX. Per Whoisology, other domains they own including Peeking.com, 3D-Games.com, and LatestGossip.com.
