This is another look at a few recent domain flips and flops, with recent data courtesy of DNJournal.com and historical data from NameBio.

Flips

WorldVest.com – Sold recently at GoDaddy for $2,499, vs $140 less than two months earlier at NameJet — a quick 17x return before commission. Whois shows the owner as “The WorldVest Fund, S.A.”, though it’s still a parked page.

8F.net – Sold recently at NameJet for $2,223, vs $1,338 in 2012 at Sedo.

ForexIndicators.com – Sold recently at GoDaddy for $2,517, vs $1,000 in 2009 at TDNAM.

eConstruct.com – Sold recently at Sedo for $5,000, vs $2,400 in 2007 at Afternic. The new owner is under privacy protection, but the domain resolves to a Domain Power landing page with an asking price of $50,000.

Flops

LendingStar.com – Sold recently at Sedo for $6,000, vs $5,770 in 2004 at Afternic. Assuming commissions of 15% and nearly 10 years of renewals, that’s a loss of $700-$800.

Note: I didn’t do an exhaustive search of the ownership history of each domain. There are likely cases where there were multiple owners between the sales prices I list.
