The Institute of Education, University of London in partnership with the Aga Khan Foundation in Kenya is offering 15 distance scholarships.
The scholarships are for students from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and
Rwanda for pursuing master’s programs. Scholarships are provided for MA
courses in Education & International Development; Education, Gender
& International Development; Education, Health Promotion &
International Development and Educational Planning, Economics and
International Development.

About Scholarship: The IOE is once again partnering with the
Aga Khan Foundation in Kenya to offer 15 distance scholarships in the
following programmes, for students from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and
Rwanda.

The Institute of Education is a college of the University of
London and an international centre of excellence in education and
related social sciences.   The Institute, which is ranked top in the UK
for education research, offers an unrivaled range of teacher training,
master’s programmes and doctorates to challenge, inspire and support
students’ progress throughout their career in education.

Study:

These Aga Khan Foundation scholarships
are for pursuing Education and International Development MA, Gender and
International Development MA, Health Promotion and International
Development MA and Educational Planning, Economics and International
Development MA at Institute of Education in London in UK.

Location: UK
Eligibility: -A degree course from a recognized university in education, economics, development or related studies.

– Minimum 2nd Upper Class Prospective students must be citizens and
residents of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda and Rwanda Relevant experience
in a developing country context.

-Must be proficient in English language (shortlisted applicants may be required to do an English language proficiency exam.

Number of awards: 15
Duration: Two years of part-time study (a combination of distance learning and face to face modes)

The first year and one term is spent studying at least two modules online in your home country

• This is followed by study at the IOE in London (January – March 2015) during which students complete the remaining modules

• Students then return home to complete their dissertation or report

• In total students usually undertake 4 modules and a dissertation.

Value: The scholarship will cover the cost of tuition fees for
the course, travel and living expenses for the period of study in
London.
