Young racers with dreams of Formula 1 fame will have a chance to gain a foothold on the first rung of the ladder with a new F4 motorsport series.

The new circuit racing tournament will be the first FIA (International Automobile Federation) approved F4 series in the Middle East and is open to motorists over the age of 15.

The calendar will run from October to March, with 18 races staged over six legs taking place in the Yas Marina Circuit and Dubai Autodrome.

“The new racing series is serious for young drivers who want to get into the sport, but we also want it to be fun,” explained championship manager Carl Rolaston.

“There’s a lot of enthusiasm for motorsports here, and the new tournament will help the sportscar evolution from karts to the single-seat cars seen in F3.

“Young drivers will have the chance to get involved with all aspects of the learning process and training in a competitive environment to set the stage for the future.”

He added: “Everybody has ambition, so the new series will give young racers a chance to live the dream.”
