Companies throughout New Mexico opened their doors to visitors this week with Manufacturing Day events intended to spotlight manufacturing industries.

About 28,000 New Mexicans work in those industries.

New Mexico was a significant player in last year’s national effort, according to the partnership, with 37 companies opening their doors to decision-makers, students and potential customers.

Among those taking part this year in the Albuquerque metro area were Glass Rite, OGB Architectural Millwork, UNIRAC, Urban Fresh Cosmetics, Aquila, Desert Paper and Envelope, Insight Lighting, Marpac, Sandia Science & Technology Park and the Valencia Flour Mill.
