RE/MAX Affiliates across the U.S. and Canada use their talents and time to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals year-round – mostly by making donations themselves after each closed transaction. And during the fifth annual RE/MAX Month of Miracles in August 2016, they kept the momentum going in celebration of 24 years of helping local kids.

Here’s a roundup of the fantastic events and incredible generosity shown throughout Month of Miracles, a celebration of the RE/MAX partnership with CMN Hospitals and a time when offices focus on organizing special events and raising even more awareness for their local CMN Hospital.

1. Trudy Wilson gave birth to a beautiful baby girl 18 years ago. Two days later, her daughter passed away at SickKids Hospital in Toronto. This year, to honor her daughter’s short life and to support the hospital who cared for her, Wilson swam all 386 km of the Trent-Severn Waterway in Ontario. Beginning June 20 and finishing Sept. 18, Wilson swam 40 km a week (10 km per day, 4 days a week) to complete the challenge. In doing so, the Sales Associate with RE/MAX Eastern in Bridgenorth, Ontario, raised $31,255 for the Lauren Taylor Wilson Pledge – 125% of her fundraising goal.

2. RE/MAX Eagle Rock in Loveland, Colorado, hosted its inaugural Client Appreciation Pancake Breakfast – and raised $1,000 for CMN Hospitals. Event attendees enjoyed face painting, a silent auction and tethered RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon rides. Not only did the event support a great cause, it also provided a great opportunity to generate leads and maintain current client relationships. Local Miracle Child and VIP Ellory and her family joined in on the fun. Ellory was diagnosed with leukemia in 2013  and was treated at Children’s Hospital of Colorado. A highlight of the day was watching Ellory run around with friends and giggle getting ready for a balloon ride!

3. After touring Cottage Children’s Medical Center in Santa Barbara, California, Neil Zimmerman pledged to donate 100% of his commissions for the rest of the year to the hospital. “My feeling and experience just made me think of my son and my wife, and how grateful I am,” Zimmerman, a Sales Associate with RE/MAX Beyond in Santa Barbara, told his local news station. “If there’s something I can do to help, I’m going to help.”

4. On Aug. 22, for the 23rd year, RE/MAX Alliance Metro Denver held its Children’s Miracle Network Golf Tournament and Auction Dinner, raising an incredible $80,343. “We have amazingly generous agents,” says Kim Hawkins, Vice President of the RE/MAX Alliance network. “That’s how we make this happen.” That’s not all – the brokerage’s Northern Colorado Offices raised $32,224 through the fifth annual Swinging ‘fore’ Miracles Golf Tournament.

Miracle Child Carson hopes to be a football player one day. Chuck Ochsner, Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Alliance, encouraged this dream by bidding $1,300 to buy Carson a football signed by Super Bowl MVP Vonn Miller. Watch Carson’s story here.

5. On Aug. 1, Bruce Johnson and his daughter Holly embarked on their second Motorcycle for Miracles ride in support of the Alyssa Rae Johnson Endowment Fund at SickKids Hospital in Toronto. This time, the duo rode 5,841 miles (9,400 km) across Canada in 31 days, stopping at all 14 CMN hospitals and countless RE/MAX brokerages along the way. Since founding Motorcycle for Miracles in 2013, the Sales Associate with RE/MAX Wasaga Beach in Wasaga Beach, Ontario, has raised $183,763 for his local affiliate hospital.

6. Employees from RE/MAX Headquarters in Denver hosted two craft parties at Children’s Hospital Colorado. While crafting and interacting with the children, the employees saw firsthand all the wonderful things their local affiliate hospital does for patients. The volunteers also assembled and donated 100 activity bags to keep the tiny patients entertained while waiting for appointments.

7. The IT department at RE/MAX Headquarters organized a Computer Sale of used equipment, including laptops and iPads, at significantly reduced prices. The sale raised $3,260 – and all proceeds were donated to CMN Hospitals.
