Jill Schnarr, vice-president of Community Affairs, was named an Influential Woman in Business by Business in Vancouver. The Influential Women in Business Awards celebrate women who are professionally successful and influential in the community and their industry.
Jill and her team of 28 champion our numerous initiatives to give where we live. Since 2006, she has led national community investment at TELUS including 11 TELUS Community Boards, community grants, community and cause marketing, charitable sponsorships, strategic community investment communications, Team TELUS Cares, team member and retiree volunteerism and humanitarian relief.
Thanks in large part to Jill’s strategic vision and business acumen, TELUS has developed a strong cause marketing component within our community investment portfolio to better align to and support our business objectives. For example, during our TV for Good and Phones for Good campaigns, we give $25 to a local project for every new TELUS customer. Since the campaigns started in 2009, TELUS has given $9.5 million to 60 projects in communities such as Victoria, B.C., and Lethbridge, Alberta. Together, with the support of our customers, we have helped make communities stronger with new parks, improved healthcare and updated libraries.
