Bud Light presents Channel Frog
Follow the ‘real’ Bud Light frogs 24 hours a day for one week at www.channelfrog.co.uk
London, 30th May 2017 – Following the release of the new Bud Light Frogs advert earlier this month, today sees the launch of Channel Frog – a brand new online reality TV series that gives viewers a glimpse into the lives of the ‘real’ Bud Light frogs, 24 hours a day for one week only.
The dedicated streaming channel (www.channelfrog.co.uk), will capture 24/7 footage of 17 frogs and toads, with a comedic script and changing backdrops* bringing their characters, and daily activities to life – from their commute to the office, to their workout at the gym, and beyond.
Created to celebrate Bud Light’s launch in the UK, Channel Frog provides viewers with unprecedented access to the frogs that inspired the latest ad – a remake of the famed 90s Budweiser Frogs advert – as they bring America’s number one beer[1] to the UK.
Set within six terrariums, each habitat has been professionally created to mimic the frogs’ natural living environments, and is being run in partnership with amphibian care and research group, International Herpetological Society (I.H.S).
Andre Finamore, Bud Light Marketing Manager, said: “The original Budweiser Frogs advert is a 90s icon, and we’re thrilled that the updated Bud Light version has been just as well received in the UK. Channel Frog is a chance for us to champion the frogs and toads that provided the inspiration behind both adverts, and give people the chance to follow these incredible animals for one week. We’ve had a lot of fun creating Channel Frog and have taken great care to ensure the welfare of the animals involved.”
Amphibian expert, Chris Buckley, who is caring for the frogs, said: “Most people don’t expect amphibians to have a personality, but that’s definitely not the case. Charlotte, Gary, Kim and Arthur, the Fire Bellied Toads, seem to love the spotlight and display quite a lot of social behaviour. Geoff, an Ornate Horned Frog, can be a bit of a grump, but he is a big softie at heart. I’m not meant to have a favourite, but he’s a real character!”
Stars of the Channel Frog screen include:
Ian, Alan, Karen and Samantha, the Blue Poison Dart Frogs
Conrad and Preston, the Splashback Dart Frogs
Barry and Linda, the Bumblebee Dart Frogs
Charlotte, Gary, Kim and Arthur, the Fire Bellied Toads
Jessica, Paul, Kristen and Olly, the Moroccan Toads
Geoff, the Ornate Horned Frog
The new Bud Light Frogs advert can be viewed here. Channel Frog will be broadcast for one week at www.channelfrog.co.uk – visitors to the site must confirm they are over the age of 18.
