AAFSW’s Foreign-Born Spouse Group gathered on Wednesday, February 12, to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a friendship luncheon at the Great Falls, VA residence of AAFSW member Tere Winger.
The weather forecast was scary to say the least. However, despite being bombarded with a significant amount of snow and freezing rain, 23 members showed up for event.
The meal consisted of a variety of homemade dishes from each of the ladies’ home countries. We enjoyed absolutely wonderful dishes at a very successful luncheon.
A brief introduction was followed by personal poems or poetry readings. It was indeed a very heartwarming Valentine’s Day experience.
