Ann Arbor Roller Derby is putting in the work to support our community and elevate the voices of BIPOC skaters, officials, volunteers, and fans. We want to create and foster an inclusive environment, and we acknowledge that we have not always succeeded in these goals. However, we believe that acknowledging past mistakes and growing from those is essential for fostering this space. For this reason, we do not abide by the harmful and dismissive posts that are continually shared by MOTA LLC.

Ann Arbor Roller Derby stands with WFTDA in their decision to disinvite MOTA LLC from future WFTDA events.  We refuse to promote or collaborate with people, groups, or companies that demonstrate continued lack of support for the BIPOC community.

We are continually working toward using our platform to promote anti-racist education and provide opportunities for individual growth. We encourage every person to identify those that continue to put the BIPOC community down and try to educate them. But if they continually disregard attempts at calling in, we need to stop giving them airtime and energy. Instead, focus on uplifting our BIPOC communities. Follow Team Indigenous Roller Derby, Black Diaspora Roller Derby, BIPOCWhoSkate, and other important voices on social media. We all have work to do.
