Spring is finally here and I have already adjusted my beauty routine accordingly, incorporating fresh, floral finds and pretty pastels. Since we are moving into the season of renewal, I decided to launch a new monthly video series where I chat about my favourite launches every month.

This month I chat about a brilliant spring-inspired shampoo and conditioner, a fresh new body duo and a selection of glam makeup finds. Take a look at the video below and scroll down to read more on each product.

1 Inoar Flowers Cherry Blossom Shampoo & Conditioner

Limited Edition. R490 for pack of 250ml shampoo and conditioner, inoar.co.za

I fell in love with the packaging when I first received these products. I found this range hydrating but still lightweight, leaving my hair soft and shiny, and the smell is like cherry sherbet. Yum.

2. Johnson’s Vita Rich Revitalising Body Wash and Lotion with grape seed oil

R29,95 for 250ml Wash and R42,95 for 400ml Lotion, facebook.com/JohnsonsSkincare

I really like the fresh, botanical smell. It reminds me of green grapes. Both the wash and lotion contain grape seed oil (thumbs up!) and the lotion is lightweight but still nourishing. I think this range is brilliant going into summer.

3. Garnier SkinActive Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Water and Cleansing Wipes

Micellar water: R89,95 for 400ml and Wipes 59,95 for 25 pack of 25, facebook.com/GarnierSA

Micellar water is gentle but super effective at removing makeup and daily dirt. This new launch also contains Argan oil, a rich source of fatty acids to feed your skin. I thought the water and wipes were both effective at removing makeup, even mascara. I also loved the soft, white floral smell.

4. YSL Touche Éclat Slogan Edition

Limited Edition, R600, exlusive to the YSL Beauté Boutique in Sandton

This is the original illuminator pen and a cult product for a reason. It diffuses and reflects light so you can apply it as you would a highlighter to give your skin luminosity. This range sports three different slogans, each capturing the lifestyle of a busy 20-something.

“No need to sleep”

“I am not a morning person”

“All lights on me”

Which one are you?

Beauty tip: “A strong lip colour needs a precise edge. Drawing around the edge of the mouth with

Touche Éclat will bring light to the lip-line, creating the illusion of volume. Apply it on the cupids’

bow and on the smile lines, as well as around the edge of the mouth, then blend. Wait for it to dry

before applying your lip colour, or use a pencil and cover the entire lip with pencil first and then add

your lipstick on top.” – Lloyd Simmonds, Creative Director Makeup YSL Beauté

5. YSL Vinyl Cream in Electric Pink and Rouge Vinyle

Launching mid-September. R520, YSL Beauté Boutique in Sandton City

This new lippie from YSL feels like a cream but it has a high gloss, vinyl finish that I love. The applicator is great for easy, neat application. It feels comfortable, gives intense colour and it is long wear.

6. Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara

R159,95, maybelline.co.za

This mascara contains a blend of oil said to make your lashes appear fuller and softer. The Fanning Resevoir brush has also been designed to curl your lashes out. When comparing it to another mascara I found my lashes looked longer and my eyes more open. I found the mascara combed through easily, gave great volume and length, and the pigment is intensely black.

7. Essie gel couture range in Signature Smile and Dress Call

R125 each, Dis-Chem, Clicks and Foschini

This new range from essie promises to give you up to 12 days wear if you use the colour and top coat. Since I didn’t receive the topcoat I couldn’t test the longevity, but I like the product anyway. The new curved bottle design is easy to hold while you are painting, the brush is easy to maneuver for a neat result, and the polish has a glossy, gel finish that I love. I finished my manicure with the essie Gel Setter Top Coat, another gem.

8. Elizabeth Arden Dual End Foundation Brush

Launches end of September. R395, elizabetharden.co.za

The heart-shaped buffer brush gives your skin an ultra-polished appearance. The synthetic bristles are super soft, and on the other end of the you get a concealer brush that is also brilliant to fill the difficult curves along your nose and around your eyes. So excited about this one!

I hope you find a few goodies to add to your kit! Happy spring!
