The nation’s most widely quoted researcher on gun-related crime and crime-prevention issues, Dr. John Lott Jr., President of the Crime Prevention Research Center, will make a live appearance and add to the surging star-power of “The 2nd Amendment Is Homeland Security” program July 2nd at 10 a.m. at the amphitheater of Charlie Daniels Park in Mt. Juliet, TN.
For the 10th in the program’s evolving series, Nashville talk show host Ralph Bristol (997wtn.com) had already enlisted country music legend Larry Gatlin to perform a mini-concert before the main event, and to perform his gun rights pleasing “An American with a Remington” as part of the main message.
Dr. Lott is responsible for much of the empirical research used by 2nd Amendment defenders to refute arguments made by activists seeking more gun control. As such, he is the primary intellectual target of criticism from gun control advocates. Despite the attacks, which have pursued on for years, Dr. Lott’s empirical research continues to stand out as preeminent in its field.
“The 2nd Amendment IS Homeland Security” is a privately produced stage presentation featuring Bristol delivering a monologue, punctuated by live music, to explain the point made by the headline.
It has grown from a “back of the truck” speech delivered to an audience of 15 less than a year ago to a production that Bristol predicts will draw 1,000 people or more to Charlie Daniels Park on July 2nd.
The public is welcome to attend free of charge. Hundreds of bottles of free, cold, bottled water will be offer by vendors and other displays.
Personal coolers and lawn chairs are welcome and encouraged. The park is alcohol-free and 2nd Amendment friendly.
