Credit Mert & MarcusMadonna has used her Instagram account to keep her fans updated on the status of her in-progress new album. Now she’s used it to reveal what appears to be a special guest on the project: Alicia Keys.
Madonna posted a photo of herself holding up a sign that says “I Am Here For,” with the word “For” crossed out and the words “to f**k s**t up” scrawled in. She captioned that photo, “#wearehere. Alicia Killin it on my record….#livingforlove.”
So how do we know that the “Alicia” to whom Madonna refers is Alicia Keys? Because the sign she’s holding up is a reference to Alicia’s new song, “We Are Here.” On Instagram, Alicia has invited people to photograph themselves holding signs saying “I Am Here For,” and then to add in what they feel their gift to the world is. Among those who’ve responded, other than Madonna: Jimmy Fallon, Queen Latifah, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Pharrell Williams.
As for the “#livingforlove” hashtag, Madonna’s been using it constantly when she posts on Instagram, along with the phrases “unapologeticb***h” and “b***hImMadonna.” It’s not clear if these are song titles, or if one of these is her album title.
An email to Madonna’s spokesperson asking for confirmation of the duet was unanswered at press time.
