DJ Jazzy Jeff Townes was born in West Philadelphia and developed a love of music at an early age. Since 1985, DJ Jazzy Jeff has wowed us with his flawless turntable skills, innovative production and musical versatility. From the success of “DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince” with partner Will Smith, to the critical acclaim of his production company “A Touch of Jazz”, Jeff proved time and time again that he would always be a force to be reckoned with.

These two are my personal favorite on the list. Growing up in Minneapolis I was dancing in basement parties to Chicago house. So this Chicago based duo speaks to me in many different ways. They are running trap music all across the globe. I was at their set at Coachella and it was INSANE. The energy will be epic. Trust me!

12. Kaskade

The New York Times may have called him the “new face of electronic dance music” in a recent profile, but Ryan Raddon, known as Kaskade, has been in the trenches of the EDM scene as an original recording artist and in-demand DJ for more than a decade. He has released seven studio albums, including his latest, Fire & Ice, scored nine Top 10 hits on Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay Chart, created chart-topping remixes for everyone from Lady Gaga to Beyoncé, appeared at all the major summer festivals, and has performed between 150 and 200 headlining shows a year for the last 10 years, building a name for himself as an innovator of the EDM scene as we know it today, which has opened doors for the likes of Deadmau5, Tiesto, Skrillex and more.

13. Keys N Krates

Keys N Krates formed as the brainchild of drummer Adam Tune, synth/keyboard aficionado David Matisse and internationally award-winning turntablist Jr. Flo. The Toronto trio came together in 2008 with the desire to bring their blend of live electronic instrumentation to the stage.

They’ve often been referred to as the worlds only “trap band,” a title they reluctantly accept. Tune says it best: “At the end of the day, people are going to call us whatever they want. We are referencing everything from classic house music to Timbaland in our beats, but I think the trap references tap into what the current sound is, and we are okay with that.”

The Mile High City resident has earned releases and remixes for notable imprints such as OWSLA, Main Course, Fool’s Gold, and Ultra – not to mention support from the likes of Knife Party, Skrillex, and Rolling Stone Magazine.

20. Yellow Claw

What started as a way of exploring the gap between Hip Hop and EDM turned out to be a successful concept at the night club Jimmy Woo in Amsterdam and developed into one of the most surprisingly refreshing DJ projects the world has seen in a while. A big part of the Yellow Claw success are their all round trademark skills, interaction with the audience, their music video’s, a clothing line, their own record label and a sound that crosses boundaries and mixes up genres.
