A typical Tamil meal consists of many spicy and non-spicy dishes. On special occasion, we do prepare mostly vegetarian food which will be served on banana leaf / plantain leaf. Lunch menu or meals includes rice, paruppu, sambar, puli kuzhambu, rasam, vadai, appalam, curd, payasam or kesari, pickle etc.

This menu shares a typical South Indian meal / South Indian lunch specially Tamilnadu lunch which includes plain rice, sambar, rasam, vazhakkai poriyal, masala kathirikkai, paruppu vadai or masal vadai, curd and semiya payasam.

Note:

You can prepare Arachuvitta sambar, Sepang kizhangu sambar, red radish sambar.

You can prepare uluntha vadai in place of paruppu vadai.

You can prepare carrot beans poriyal in place of vazhakkai poriyal or you can see other poriyal or stir fry recipes here.

You can replace semiya payasam with Quinoa payasam, Aval payasam, Paasi paruppu payasam.
