The Address Montgomerie Dubai is managed by Troon Golf (of Westin Turnberry, Scotland and Troon North, Arizona fame and operating or developing over 185 golf properties in 20 countries), and is widely recognized as golf’s only luxury brand. This unique combination of championship golf and luxury hospitality, known around the world as the Troon Golf Experience, has established The Address Montgomerie Dubai as the Middle East’s premier luxury golf destination.
The Address Montgomerie Dubai’s golf course and Academy were officially opened on 1st October 2002 and the club has since managed to generate the kind of interest that affords it a client base of over 40,000 local and international golf rounds annually.
A design collaboration between golfing great Colin Montgomerie and Desmond Muirhead, The Address Montgomerie Dubai is a links-land style oasis encompassing over 200 acres and featuring 14 lakes and 81 bunkers which challenge and intrigue all levels of players.
On 23rd January 2006, The Address Montgomerie Dubai Clubhouse was officially unveiled, signifying the facility’s transition into a multi-faceted golf resort. The gala reception and inauguration ceremony was hosted by 8 time European Order Of Merit winner and course designer, Colin Montgomerie. Montgomerie, currently ranked in the world’s top 10 and Europe’s number 1 golfer, was thrilled with this new addition to Dubai’s golfing landscape.
CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE OVERVIEW
Although The Address Montgomerie Dubai has evolved into one of the Middle East’s most luxurious and desirable golfing destinations in recent times, the key to its success has always remained contingent upon the quality of the golf course that would become the focal point for one of Dubai’s most exclusive residential communities, Emirates Hills.
The Address Montgomerie Dubai’s championship golf course was designed by Colin Montgomerie in association with Desmond Muirhead. The course covers 265 acres which consist of 123 acres of turf, 49 acres of man-made lakes (a total of 14 lakes), 93 acres of landscaped gardens and is scattered with 81 large bunkers.
The golf course provides the player with undulating “links land” style fairways with generous landing areas which challenge and intrigue all levels of player. Although large in size, the greens can be very misleading, especially as they are consistently rolling above 9.5feet. Plenty of shape throughout the greens can result in some very trying putts.
One of the signature holes is the par 5 fourth, dubbed the Snake hole for its saddleback fairway which doglegs towards the green, with two bunkers behind forming the eyes of the snake.
Further on, the par 5 ninth, with water down the left, is a tough finish to the opening half. The par 3 thirteenth, a hole designed in the shape of the UAE, boasts a 360 degree teeing area around an island fairway and green, allowing for a completely different golf hole to be played every time. However, it is the par 5 eighteenth that offers a more classic test.
The Address Montgomerie Dubai offers two very different seasons of golf. During winter, the golf course is over-seeded whilst the summer season has the course back to a full stand of Bermuda grass. The turf growth is vigorous during the summer resulting in a very challenging rough.

The Address Montgomerie Dubai Facilities
Facilities include locker rooms with showers, the Academy Restaurant and Bar that provides breakfast, lunch and dinner – seven days per week; a large terrace area, and a golf shop.
Construction on a full service clubhouse for members and visitors alike due to open early 2005 : the new building will feature full amenity locker rooms with saunas; a gymnasium with massage rooms; a restaurant that will allow seating for up to 100 people in air-conditioned comfort with extension to the alfresco ambiance of the terraces overlooking the eighteenth hole; a club bar and lounge that will cater for the visitor and member alike ; meeting and banquet rooms catering for up to 60 people for a private dinner; and bag storage for members with a full service golf shop providing a wide range of golfing merchandise.
