HOW WE WORK?

We split all projects into 3 phases, Immersion, Inspiration and Implementation. These stages include the following:

1. IMMERSION

Planning – We will require comprehensive project briefing and meetings with key dignitaries and stakeholders.

Key Interviews – Based on the size of the proposal any relevant interviews will be conducted.

Research and Insight – Competitor research and insight on the project will be undertaken to best understand the clients business landscape and best practice.

Recommendations – A brand platform (AKA big idea, brand essence) will be formulated and presented including our recommendation based on previous findings.

2. INSPIRATION

Concept Design – This stage showcases unique design routes with visual example of what the final product could look like on sample items like business cards, letterheads, vehicles or other relevant items. The Visual language is a significant part of your brand and this along with the logo is typically resolved here. The fees page within our proposal will highlight the number of routes which is normally 3 and then the number of applications in each route.

Applications – On approval of a route above, the selected route will be rolled out to all the applications as listed on the fees page.

Design Refinement – Once all is laid out and designs finalised, the client has the opportunity to fine tune. We allow for 3 refinements in stages 2.1 and 2.2 after which further refinements will be charged at our standard daily rates.

Sign Off – Approval of all deliverables required to commence to final phase.

3. IMPLEMENTATION

Finished Art – Artwork is prepared to ensure it is print ready or ready to go live. No production commences at this stage.

Specifications – Artwork is accompanied by a document detailing paper stock and any special finishes for the printers attention, should external printers be used.

Production – It is advisable that Joie Design manages the print/production process to ensure colour accuracy and attention to detail. We work closely with a preferred supplier and can pass special rates on to the client. Production costs can be supplied upon request.

Health Check – A brief visual and strategy audit is taken to ensure designed items match the brand intention. Outcomes of the audit will be addressed on a case by case basis.

Design work is normally presented in PDF format in a bid to save paper. Our process is based upon a proven formula which allows each project to be viewed as a unique project, though maintaining the consistency the brand-expressions-framework above facilitates. Each proposal will detail the exact deliverables a client can expect.
