Solar power is the alteration of sunlight into energy, either directly using photovoltaic (PV), or indirectly using concerted solar power (CSP). Concentrated solar power systems use lenses or mirrors and tracking procedures to center a big area of sunlight into a small beam. Photovoltaic converts light into electric current using the photoelectric effect. Each of these two forms of solar energy calls for the manufacture of two separate types of solar panels.

One is labeled a solar collector that is used to heat up water and then stock it in a tank for distribution when wanted. The other kind of panel is called a solar panel, or more officially, a photovoltaic panel. Solar panels collect the light rays from the Sun and change it into direct current electricity, that can then be altered to alternating current using an inverter. Resolute Solar Power (CSP) systems apply lenses or mirrors and tracing systems to focus a huge section of sunlight into a little sunbeam.
