On Monday, October 24, at David Muirhead in Sandton, GQ in association with Jameson Select Reserve, celebrated the announcement of GQ’s Best Dressed Men of the Year. The Top 10 for 2016 are none other than:
Jonathan Freemantle – Artist, Gallery Owner and Property developer
Prejelin Naggan – Head of Primary Markets at the JSE
Bradley Maseko – Founder and Managing Director of Branded Youth
Greg Hammond – Lawyer
Sivuyile Madikana – Medical Doctor
Casper Nyovest – Recording Artist and record producer
Darren Thomas – Marketing and communications manager for Virgin Atlantic South Africa
Linda Makhanya – Bespoke Menswear Designer
Hussain Van Roos – Founder of Fixin Diaries and founder and creative director of IAMHussain
For 2016, the winner of the GQ Best Dressed Men Of The Year is SA actor Vuyo Dabula, most famous for his role in the hit soapie ‘Generations’.
The first award of the evening was presented by Shirley Mabiletja, the Marketing Manager for Jameson Irish Whiskeys to Siya Beyile, for the ‘Jameson Select Reserve Man of Character’ award. Beyile is an African entrepreneur, supporter of the UN Women’s #HeForShe campaign and founder of popular blog ‘The Threaded Man’.
Jameson Select Reserve are also the sponsors of the prestigious, highly-anticipated Best Dressed Reader award and this year congratulated: Bulelani Valashiya. In Valashiya’s own words, “fashion has always been my thing. I grew up in a place where most of the people loved wearing nice clothes. I would always buy the GQ Magazine to search for dressing tips and honestly speaking I got a lot of tips.”
