You see them on TV and own their cookbooks. Now foodie fans will have the chance to meet George Calombaris and Matt Moran at the Good Food & Wine Show, on at the Ticketpro Dome from Friday to Sunday, July 29 to 31. Joining them will be a host of celebrated South African chefs, who will be bringing loads of local flavour.

This is Calombaris’ first South African Good Food & Wine Show experience. As one of Australia’s top chefs, his Greek heritage is central to his culinary style, which he shares through his cookbooks and restaurants. On his upcoming Johannesburg Good Food & Wine Show experience Calombaris says: “I had such a great time in Cape Town. I am really looking forward to sharing recipes from my new cookbook ‘GREEK’ and meeting and mingling with ‘MasterChef’ fans in Johannesburg. It’s been a few years between visits there so I’m looking forward to it.”

Fellow Australian food icon Moran is a restauranteur, TV star pioneer of the “paddock to plate” philosophy and a firm believer in the importance of consumers being connected to the source of their food. This philosophy is showcased in his award-winning contemporary Australian menus that emphasise seasonal ingredients, balanced flavours and premium-quality produce.

Local talent live at the Good Food & Wine Show

Celebrated South African chefs, Siba Mtongana, Sarah Graham, Jenny Morris, Neill Anthony and J’Something, will be bringing loads of local flavour to the Good Food & Wine Show, on at the Ticketpro Dome from Friday to Sunday, July 29 and 31.

Showing off her culinary skills at the Show will be Siba Mtongana, the star of ‘Siba’s Table’, which is broadcast in more than 130 countries worldwide. She won a South African Film and Television Award for Best Lifestyle and Variety Show for her previous cooking show, ‘Cooking with Siba’, as well as three prestigious Galliova Awards for her recipe development, food styling and food journalism.

Also returning to the Show is cook, food writer and TV show host Sarah Graham. She started her food blog, ‘A Foodie Lives Here’, in May 2010 and later that year became the first South African food blogger to be awarded a cook book contract.

She is currently writing her fourth cook book and planning another season of ‘Sarah Graham’s Food Safari’, which will be filmed in East Africa later this year.

Back on the Show for a 17th time is Jenny Morris (A.K.A The Giggling Gourmet). Not only is Morris a chef, but an author, magazine writer, radio and TV presenter teacher, caterer and culinary tour guide. This down-to-earth chef has cooked for dozens of celebrities and royals including Prince Charles, Thabo Mbeki, Kenneth Kaunda, Charlize Theron and Al Gore.

After delighting Durbanites at last year’s Show, Mi Casa frontman J’Something will be putting in a much anticipated appearance this year. He has been showcasing his love for cooking on TV shows ‘Something’s Cooking’ and ‘What’s For Dinner’, which had a combined viewership of 12 million. When not collaborating with chefs to demonstrate his cooking skills and love for soulful food, he is working on his first cookbook, or co-hosting a show on KAYA FM.

Joining the headline chef line up for the first time will be talented The Private Chef Neill Anthony, who trained in the kitchens of big-name international cooking greats and now cooks quality food in the homes of prestigious clients. He shares his adventures on his new television series, ‘Neill Anthony – The Private Chef’, which broadcasts internationally on Food Network.
