Ever have a day that is so picture perfect you wish you could snapshot it to tuck away to pull out when you need a reminder that days like that really do exist?

That was my Mother’s Day this year. It was exceptional. The interesting part is that it was the most low-key Mother’s Day ever.

There was no fancy brunch, no extravagant gifts, none of that. But I took an entire day off and that, my friends, is rare.

We woke up (painfully) early at 4 in the morning because (furkid) Alice Ann decided no one needs to sleep in on a Sunday. Dreamy and I shared a pot of coffee per usual, then we all drove up to the Farm to spend the day with my parents.

Dreamy packed the provisions for mimosas, my sweet Daddy prepared our special no-fail BBQ ribs and the rest of the meal, and I made dessert. We sipped cocktails and chatted on the veranda and had the best, most relaxing day ever!

I didn’t do a single dish, we had leftovers for dinner and I woke up Monday morning feeling 100% refreshed and renewed. Then, I made a batch of chocolate chip cookies, because Monday.

Which leads me to a confession: When I say “I made dessert” for Mother’s Day, what I mean is I gave my apron and rolling pin a rest, turned on the oven and put the already-made dessert in the oven and set the timer.

I had a little help from my friends at The Maine Pie Co. Do you know them? Oh, you must know them! Founder, Jill Miller is an experienced baker well known in the north east for her outstanding, flavorful homemade pies. Having run several successful full-service bakeries for more than a decade, Jill decided to cater to her customers with special dietary needs and create a gluten-free pastry that would rival any traditional crust so that everyone at every table can enjoy an exceptional slice of pie.

You probably already guessed Jill was incredibly successful in her endeavor. Today, the best ready-made gluten-free pie crusts available are being crafted in a dedicated gluten-free kitchen in Biddeford, Maine.

Now, if you’re in the northeast, you’re probably nodding your head right now because you’re picking up The Maine Pie Co. pies from your local market on the reg.

But if you’re like me and you live elsewhere, I have the BEST news: Now everyone in the US can enjoy pies from The Maine Pie Co. with their recently introduced 2-day ground and 2-day air shipping! With affordable flat-rate shipping and great prices on product, it’s a must-do, friends!

The Products I Tried + a Giveaway

Of course, I can’t tempt and tease you without giving one of you the opportunity to try my family’s faves: ThreeBerry Pie, Lemon Curd Tart and Chocolate Chip Cookies. These will make someone’s upcoming Memorial Day celebration extra-sweet!

ThreeBerry Pie

Strawberries, blueberries and raspberries are piled high into a gluten-free pastry, topped with wide lattice strips, perfectly crimped at the edges and bake to bubbling berry perfection right in your oven! Ma Petite gives this pie a perfect “10” for its flaky tender crust and just-tart-enough fresh berry filling! (Allergen statement: contains milk & eggs.)

Lemon Curd Tart

Bursting with natural lemon flavor, creamy on the inside with a crisp almond cookie crust and lattice top, this tart will fill your kitchen with an intoxicating scent! This is my Dreamy’s favorite pie bar none! (Allergen statement: contains milk, eggs & almonds.)

Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies, what can I tell you besides get yourself a few bags to have on hand in the freezer ASAP. Pre-portioned dough is ready when you are. Just take as few or as many out of the bag as you need, bake and you have the perfect chewy, warm chocolate chip cookies ready for a treat! Somehow, even though I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, I always seem to make room for one (or two) of these! (Allergen statement: contains milk & eggs.)

How Your Products Arrive

Your Maine Pie Co. products will arrive frozen and packed carefully with dry ice. Pies and tarts are shrink wrapped in plastic, boxed in attractive and colorful boxes, and wrapped again.
