The Memphis Grizzlies and SportSouth today announced that SportSouth will televise 73 games during the 2013-14 regular season. For the fourth consecutive season, all games on the SportSouth schedule will be available in high-definition (HD).

Memphis will tip off the regular season when SportSouth televises a 2013 Western Conference Finals rematch between the Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs at 7:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at the AT&T Center.

Grizz Nation will be able to follow the Grizzlies across the NBA landscape throughout the season, as SportSouth will broadcast 38 of the team’s road contests this season, including a meeting with LeBron James and the defending NBA Champion Miami Heat at 6:30 p.m. CT on Friday, March 21.

As previously announced, Memphis will play five games on ESPN this season, including three road tilts on Friday, March 7 at Chicago and Wednesday, March 26 at Utah, meaning that the Grizzlies’ entire 41-game road slate will be locally televised this season. TNT also will feature the Grizzlies in a nationally-televised contest with the Houston Rockets at 7 p.m. CT on Thursday, Dec. 26 at the Toyota Center.

The Grizzlies’ ratings in Memphis have continuously increased over the past three seasons. This season, Fox Sports will increase its coverage in Little Rock, Ark. and debut new coverage in Missouri and southern Illinois – including the St. Louis area – with 46 and 42 telecasts in each market, respectively. The games in the Little Rock, Ark. market will be broadcast on Fox Sports Southwest Plus, while the games in the Missouri and southern Illinois region will be distributed on Fox Sports Midwest and FS Midwest Plus (all games and channels are subject to change). Existing Grizzlies coverage on SportSouth reaches fans in Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee including markets such as Birmingham, Mobile, Louisville, Jackson (MS), Chattanooga and Knoxville.

“We look forward to providing the most complete and highest-quality viewing experience throughout the 2013-14 season with 73 HD telecasts on SportSouth and a broadcast team that provides the most in-depth coverage for our fans over the widest region we have ever reached,” said Grizzlies Vice President of Marketing Communications and Broadcast John Pugliese.

Play-by-play broadcaster Pete Pranica returns for his 10th season as the television voice of the Grizzlies, joining analysts Sean Tuohy and former Grizzlies point guard Brevin Knight. Rob Fischer enters his seventh season as the sideline reporter for all Grizzlies telecasts.

SportSouth and the Grizzlies will continue to provide expanded pre-game coverage on Grizzlies LIVE, presented by Chuck Hutton Toyota. Hosted on location, Grizzlies LIVE gives viewers a complete pre-game breakdown, including interviews, analysis and special features for all 73 telecasts.

All 82 Grizzlies regular season games will also be carried live on 92.9 FM ESPN Radio and will feature play-by-play announcer Eric Hasseltine and analysts Elliot Perry and Hank McDowell. Coverage begins with the pregame show 30 minutes prior to tip-off hosted by Gary Darby.

In an effort to ensure that all members of Grizz Nation can catch every game of the 2013-14 season, SportSouth and the Grizzlies have teamed up to make a special offer for the three non-telecast games. These “Home for the Holidays” games, Monday, Dec. 9 vs. Orlando, Sunday, Dec. 15 vs. Minnesota and Monday, Dec. 23 vs. Utah, will have all Terrace III level seats, regularly priced at $20 per game, available for only $10.
