ORANGEBURG, SC – Shootings, unfortunately, are becoming a common story these days. And, the latest one at South Carolina State University has everyone in shock.

“We are extraordinarily sad about this. He was a very nice young man. And it hurts. It hurts us all,” said Thomas Elzey, SC State University President.

The school’s president is talking about Brandon Robinson, 20. Police say he died after Justin Singleton, 19, shot him in the neck.

The two apparently got into an argument prior to the shooting. And, after it all went down, Singleton took off.

Police were able to snag Singleton a few hours later after searching for what they initially thought were four suspects and placing the campus on lockdown.

Officials say SC State is back open and students are safe.

Now, if only our schools, and everywhere else, could stay that way.
