Many of the cities in Volusia County, including Port Orange, Daytona Beach, and New Smyrna Beach, offer outdoor activities that bring the community together and provide affordable fun for local families. With summer just around the corner, it is that time again to find activities for kids. 2012 summer activity calendars are now ready, so check them out and mark your calendar!
In Daytona Beach the summer 2012 concert series will be starting on June 2nd. Every Saturday night there will be a free outdoor concert held at the band shell, which is located at 250 N. Atlantic. Residents and visitors can stop by for the free entertainment, which includes fireworks. The music starts at 7:00 p.m. and the fireworks show will follow at 9:45 p.m.
The City of Port Orange is offering the yearly “Movies Under the Stars,” where you can watch a movie with the community. The movies will be shown at the Port Orange City Center Amphitheatre. Movies start at 8:00 p.m. on June 8, July 13, and August 10, 2012. Take the family for a night at the movies under the stars! Don't forget a blanket!
