Last year I purchased a Shimano Terez popping rod for throwing to school bluefin. I'm hopeful to find some 50-150 class fish but also want the potential to actually land one. I do have standup gear with 50w reels but have had times when we have come up on schools of tuna and want to be able to cast into them.
Was going to get a spheros 20k but now see this new BG line from Daiwa. Just bought a 3k version and quality seems spot on with the reviews so far.
Would a Daiwa BG 8000 reeel work...
